Who Is Comedian, Nate Bargatze's Wife? All About Laura Bargatze, Producer Of 'The Nateland Podcast'

Nate Bargatze is a beloved American stand-up comedian and actor. For those unaware, Nate began his comedy career back in 2002. Having no interest in improv, he reportedly enrolled in Jim Rauth's Comedy College at the time, which mainly focused on stand-up comedy. In his early years, Nate struggled to gain recognition because his shows never drew more than ten people. However, it all changed in 2008 when Nate Bargatze appeared on Comedy Central's stand-up show, Live at Gotham, Late Night with Conan O' Brien, and at the Just For Laughs comedy festival in Montreal. Over the years, Nate toured several places and released multiple comedy albums, including Yelled At By A Clown and Full Time Magic, both of which made the Billboard Top Ten Comedy Charts.

Nate's hosting of the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards in September 2025 was another moment that helped solidify his reputation as one of the top stand-ups in the industry. Recently, it was announced that Nate Bargatze is all set to receive the prestigious 2026 NAB Television Chairman's Award. The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), which made the announcement, also added that the presentation will be held on April 21, 2026 (ET). It is worth noting that the one person who has consistently supported Nate Bargatze as he became the No. 1-grossing comedian in the world is none other than his wife, Laura Bargatze. Laura and Nate Bargatze met while working at a restaurant 

Although Nate Bargatze has been a comedian for more than 20 years, he met his wife, Laura, before his career took off. Reportedly, the duo met in their early 20s while working together at an Applebee's restaurant in Tennessee. Here, Nate served as a host while Laura was a server. In later years, Nate went on to joke about their roles in The Greatest Average American, claiming that Laura thought he wasn't “smart enough to be one a server.” Regardless, while speaking on The Nateland Podcast, Laura revealed that the reason Nate caught her eye was that he successfully silenced their fellow Applebee's employees. She recalled: 

"He put in The Little Mermaid soundtrack and told his friends to, like, ‘Shush, shush, I’m listening to this song’. I was like, if anyone could put in The Little Mermaid soundtrack and shush a bunch of 20-year-olds...to be quiet while he sings it. I thought that was totally confident."

Laura has supported Nate Bargatze's comedy ambitions from the very beginning  

After working at Applebee's for some time, Nate left the place to become a meter reader for a water company, according to Variety. With him and Laura still dating, Nate thought that it was "a solid job you can have for the rest of your life." However, ever since he was a high school senior, he had dreamed of becoming a comedian, which later led him to leave his stable job and pursue stand-up. On The Nateland Podcast, Laura recalled that when Nate broke the news to her, she "was like, okay, alright...do that!" and added that she had a good feeling about it.  

Nate proposed to Laura during a carriage ride through Central Park 

According to reports, Nate proposed to Laura in 2005 when he was pursuing comedy in New York City. On the other hand, his then-girlfriend and now-wife, Laura, was still working and living in Tennessee. During a 2005 visit, while they were on a carriage ride through Central Park, Nate proposed to Laura, leaving her “completely shocked”. Eventually, Nate Bargatze and Laura tied the knot on October 13, 2006.

A few years after their wedding, Nate and Laura welcomed their daughter, Harper, on July 8, 2012. At the time, Nick took to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle to announce the joyous news. Posting a picture of his newborn baby in a hospital bassinet, he captioned it, “My beautiful new daughter Harper Blair. Awesome day.” It is worth noting that as she grew up, she took it upon herself to introduce her father at every one of his specials, saying, “Please welcome my daddy, Nate Bargatze!”

According to Laura's LinkedIn profile, she earned a Bachelor's degree in business administration from Middle Tennessee State University in 2005. After graduating, Laura continued working in marketing until she moved to New York City with Nate. While living there, Laura decided to become a corporate event planner. Notably, she worked in that role for almost a decade, following which she began collaborating with her husband, Nate, in 2019. For the unversed, she is the executive producer of his podcast, The Nateland Podcast. In addition to this, Laura is also a talent manager at Bargatze Enterprises.

A few years ago, in April 2022, Laura attended the 64th Annual Grammy Awards alongside her hubby, Nate Bargatze. Here, according to reports, Nate was nominated for Best Comedy Album. To add, Nate was also a presenter for the high-profile event. After the event, Nate posted several photos of himself and Laura from the ceremony and the red carpet on his Instagram account. While he didn't manage to bring home an award, Nate made sure to still show his appreciation for his wife, writing: 

“My wife looked beautiful. We had a lot of fun.”
