Filmmaker, Abhinav Kashyap is currently making headlines for his explosive allegations against actor, Salman Khan. The latest controversy centres on Abhinav's recent statements, in which he revived and amplified past allegations against Salman and his family, claiming they have destroyed his career. These remarks prompted a response from Salman Khan on national television, reigniting discussion about their long-standing feud. Abhinav's love life and his past comment on Salman being the cause of his divorce are also revisited.
Abhinav Kashyap is an Indian film director, screenwriter, and actor known for directing Besharam (2013) and the blockbuster film, Dabangg (2010). Besides directing, he also worked as a writer for movies and shows like Ssshhhh...Koi Hai, Manorama Six Feet Under, 13B, Gabbar Singh, and many more. Abhinav is the younger brother of the renowned filmmaker, Anurag Kashyap; however, he hasn't been able to attain the same kind of recognition as Anurag. Abhinav blames Salman Khan for his diminishing career and recently called him out again.
In a September 2025 interview with SCREEN, Abhinav levelled serious accusations against Salman Khan. He called Salman a 'gunda' (goon) and a 'badtameez insaan' (ill-mannered person). The duo's relationship got strained when Abhinav refused to direct the sequel to Dabangg and later alleged that Salman sabotaged his career as a form of revenge. Talking about how Salman's name always gets cleared of controversies and how he's still in the industry despite his lack of interest in acting, Abhinav told SCREEN:
"Salman is never involved. He is not even interested in acting, and he hasn't been since the last 25 years. He does a favour by turning up to work. He is more into the power of being a celebrity, but he is not interested in acting. He is a gunda (goon). I was not aware of this before Dabangg. Salman badtameez hai, ganda insaan hai."
Abhinav not only blamed Salman for ending his career but also accused him of ruining his personal life. The filmmaker was married to his former wife and author, Chatura Rao, for two decades, starting in 1997. After their 2017 divorce, Abhinav accused Salman of being the cause of the split. According to him, problems with his wife started to arise because he became a changed man, owing to the immense mental stress Salman caused him. However, several reports suggested that the cause of the divorce was Abhinav's alleged relationship with actress, Pallavi Sharda.
Despite being a married man and a father of two daughters, he was embroiled in dating rumours with a 14-years-younger, Pallavi Sharda. Pallavi was his daughter's friend and an actress, who rose to fame with Besharam. In 2013, following the announcement that Pallavi would star in the Abhinav Kashyap directorial, Besharam, gossip about a potential romance between the two began to spread. Abhinav and Pallavi were spotted having dinner at a restaurant in Mumbai, further fueling the speculation.

After Besharam's release, they were dubbed the 'new lovebirds of B-Town' by fans and the media, citing that they were spotted holding hands near a restaurant. Pallavi spoke positively about their relationship in interviews; however, she refuted the dating speculations, as reported by Hindustan Times in 2013. Sharing that she has 'not been in touch with Abhinav ever since the film Besharam released' and considered romantic link-ups as a part of being an actress, she stated:
"I'm currently single and not even thinking about getting into a relationship as my career is my priority. But if I meet someone interesting, I'm not averse to the idea of falling in love."
