The feature will be available to Premium subscribers who will be able to listen to soundtracks in up to 24-bit/44.1 kHz FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec). The feature will roll out in October.

It means listeners would be able to listen to more crisp vocals, clear instrument sound, and get an overall more immersive music experience. The quality will be almost similar to being in the studio and listening to an artist. Otherwise, in normal cases, music is played in standard compressed formats that shrink file sizes by trimming audio details. Spotify Premium is available to all Premium Subscribers without any extra charges. To activate the lossless feature, you need to simply go to the Spotify app and tap your profile icon. Among other options, search for ‘Settings and Privacy’. Next, go to Media Quality and select ‘LossLess’ under Wi-Fi, cellular, or downloads. It is advised to use Wi-Fi for streaming ‘Lossless files’ because they are larger in size. You can even use wired headphones or speak to listen to it. The regular Bluetooth technology compresses signals and can’t yet deliver full lossless quality.
