'War 2' Teaser Review: Netizens Call Hrithik Roshan And Jr NTR's Action Sequence A Tacky VFX Fest

War 2 will soon be released in the theatres, and the teaser for the same was dropped on May 20, 2025. Directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films, the film was expected to break all the records of Indian action-thrillers. However, the teaser has left the netizens heavily disappointed.

War 2 had created massive hype with its announcement. After the action-packed entertainment in 2019, War, the expectations from the sequel were well beyond the charts. However, the teaser itself has left the netizens feeling underwhelmed. The film's teaser was dropped globally on May 20, 2025, and while a section of netizens are wholeheartedly impressed by the scale of the film, others are left unimpressed. The film stars Hrithik Roshan, N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Kiara Advani in lead roles, and with such a killer star cast, one would expect that the teaser would be enough to woo the crowd into the theatres, but it seems like the cards didn't fall in favour of the team.

The teaser showed the clash between Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, the exploding objects, and the actor's sharp physique left the viewers swooning. Kiara's 5-second glimpse in a bikini had everyone on the edge of their seats. So, one might ask, then what went wrong? For some viewers, it was the similarities between War and its sequel that irked their brains. The fight, the snow sequence, and the smoking hot love interest combined made them feel like it was all 'I think I have seen this film before'. However, not all have just given up hope yet; fans are still eager to see if the storyline will offer them a surprise or if the similarities take away a hit from under Hrithik and Jr NTR's fist.

A user penned, "Not a troll: But the VFX quality in #War2Teaser seriously feels off like 90MM Rod level output. Almost every frame looks like it was shot completely on a green screen, with little to no depth or realism. The action scenes might suffer badly, turning into another ADP-range Movie." Another wrote, "Average teaser, to be honest, really liked some stills, but overall, VFX work looks mid. Hritik remains the best part yet again. Also, the hand-to-hand combat looks hype. #War2Teaser #War2" A comment read, "Overall, I guess I liked it. The action pieces look intense. The use of colours in every frame is so well done. And #HrithikRoshan. Oh man, the screen presence!! Yes, the VFX is too underwhelming, as expected. The sad thing is it stands out the most in the teaser, at least for me. #War2."

War 2 will be released on August 14, 2025, coinciding with the Independence Day. The film brings back 'Major Kabir Dhaliwal', which was essayed by Hrithik Roshan and Ashutosh Rana as 'Colonel Sunil Luthra'. Kiara Advani and Jr. NTR will also be seen in lead roles. However, their characters have not yet been revealed. The film was shot in Madrid, Salamanca, Abu Dhabhi, Mumbai, Venice, Lake Como and Amalfi Coast.
