Shah Rukh is more than just a superstar; he is an emotion that resonates with his countless fans in India and abroad. The king of Bollywood has ruled over the hearts of fans for more than three decades. Whether he plays the romantic or action hero on the big screen or meets people off-screen, SRK leaves a lasting impression on his fans. Needless to say, his fandom is not just limited to fans but also extends to celebrities who keenly share their experience of meeting with the superstar. Recently, Baby John actress, Wamiqa Gabbi shared an interesting anecdote from her first meeting with Shah Rukh Khan.
Meeting with the icon, Shah Rukh Khan, is a dream come true moment for anyone, and the same was the case with Wamiqa Gabbi. The actress, who is presently on a promotional spree for her upcoming film, Bhool Chuk Maaf, recently shared an interesting anecdote from her first meeting with SRK during the inaugural shot of her last film, Baby John. She told Mashable India that SRK came to the momentous occasion because he had worked with Baby John's producer, Atlee in Jawan. Shah Rukh Khan left everyone starstruck with his presence, including Wamiqa Gabbi and her brother, Hardik who was present on the set with her.
Since they both stood at the back, they started wondering what they might say if the superstar came to interact with them. Amid other options, her brother humorously recommended 'Nas kaat de' in an exaggerated sense and they both were left in splits over the filmy suggestion. Later, when the Pathaan actor was about to leave, he came to Wamiqa to greet her. Recalling their interaction, she said:
"He said, 'Okay, bye,' and I said, 'It was so nice meeting you, sir; my brother was suggesting I cut my wrist, but obviously I won't do that.' There was a pin-drop silence for 10 seconds. Everyone went quiet, and he (SRK) left. After he left, a person from the production came running to me and was like, 'Did you just talk about cutting your wrist?' My brother was shocked. I honestly thought he (Shah Rukh) would get the humour, but he didn't."
Apart from Shah Rukh, Wamiqa also met Salman Khan during the shooting of Baby John. She and the film's lead actor, Varun Dhawan, felt grateful for the opportunity to work with the actor and shared their experience with Bollywood Hungama. In the interview, she shared that they were so excited and delighted over working with the Dabangg actor that she played his songs throughout the day. In her words:
“Subha se leke shaam tak, mere mein sirf unke gaane baj rahe the. Mein aur meri puri team sirf unke gaano mein dance kar rahi thi. I was so overwhelmed shooting with him. It felt like a dream. His energy is infectious, and being around him makes you feel like part of something truly special."
Wamiq Gabbi made her debut at the age of thirteen by starring in Imtaiz Ali's Jab We Met, where she played the role of Kareena Kapoor's cousin. She went on to do minor roles in Love Aaj Kal, Mausam and more. Wamiqa made her debut as a lead in Sixteen. When the film failed to create an impact at the box office, the actress turned towards regional cinema with North Indian and South Indian films like Tu Mera 22 Main Tera 22, Bhale Manchi Roju. Nikka Zaildar 2, etc. Wamiqa gradually gained her footing in the Hindi film industry and was last seen in Baby John, co-starring Varun Dhawan.
