Akanksha Puri is best known for her role as 'Goddess Parvati' in Vighnaharta Ganesh. Akanksha made her big screen debut in 2013 with the Tamil film, Alex Pandian. In 2015, she garnered a lot of attention for her role in Madhur Bhandarkar’s film, Calendar Girls.

After three years' stint in the popular show, Vighnaharta Ganesh, Akanksha participated in Bigg Boss OTT season 2. Not many people know this, but television actress Akanksha Puri was a cabin crew member at Kingfisher Airlines before making it big in the television and film industry.

Once, in a throwback interview with The Times of India, Akanksha spoke about her career as an air hostess with Kingfisher Airlines. Recalling how she was handpicked by the billionaire Vijay Mallya himself, she said:

“I had never planned to join the aviation sector, but once I had gone to visit my cousins in Chandigarh, where walk-in interviews for Kingfisher Airlines were happening. I also decided to give it a try. Vijay Mallya was there himself along with a panel to interview us. He asked me a number of questions, but what struck me the most about him was how he was a very good observer. Mr Mallya, apart from the usual questions, asked me what I liked about fashion, friends and whether I liked to go out, as against talking about just aviation.”

Akanksha Puri was an Inflight Bartender in the first class and was trained to serve the finest liquor. From Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone to Siddharth Mallya, Akanksha flew many celebrities. Going further in the interview, Akanksha talked about her hectic work schedule as a bartender and revealed:

“If we would be flying on a night flight to London, there would be people just sitting at the bar for the whole night. I would not get rest as there was somebody or the other always at the bar. I have seen a lot of things happen on a night flight, things that happen under the blanket once the lights are shut. But being a crew, we have to keep our mouth shut even when we can see a lot of things.”
