Netflix recently dropped the film, The Thursday Murder Club, directed by Chris Columbus. The film brings Richard Osman's 2020, best-selling novel to life. The film follows a group, who analyse cold cases, until a real murder happens at their home. Amid all the buzz the film is generating, read on to know what fans have to say about this film.
After watching the film on Netflix, several users shared their thoughts and said that they absolutely loved the film. Users took to their X (formerly Twitter) handles to express their thoughts on the film. One user commented, "I really like the plot of Thursday Murder club." Another user wrote, "Watched the first half of The Thursday Murder Club this morning. It's absolutely brilliant. Truly brilliant. Love the comedy mixed in with the murder." A third user commented, "Loved The Thursday Murder Club 10/10 and seeing Tom Ellis and David Tennant in the same frame was hot as hell."
Apart from all the love users showered on the film, there were some users who were left highly disappointed after watching the film. A lot of users felt that the makers of the film wasted the opportunity of having such a strong cast. One user said, "I'm sad to say I'm disappointed with The Thursday Murder Club film. The heart & humour of the main quartet, plus Donna & Bogdan, felt lacking too." Another user said, "What a damn shame how they've wasted that cast." A third user compared the film with the novel and wrote:
"As someone who hasn't read the books, The Thursday Murder Club felt really difficult to get into. Gets off to a wobbly start but definitely improves, it's just a shame it's over by the time it feels like it has really clicked into place. Also, can't help but feel that, with the quality of the cast, there isn't a single performance that leaves a lasting impression."
The film, The Thursday Murder Club, follows four friends, 'Elizabeth', 'Ron', 'Ibrahim', and 'Joyce'. The four meet regularly to solve old and unsolved crime mysteries for fun, but their hobby suddenly turns serious when a real murder happens at their place. As they dig deeper, they uncover more secrets, shady deals and several hidden pasts. The crime comedy film stars talented actors like Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Celia Imrie, Ben Kingsley, Tom Ellis and more.
Helen Mirren, who plays the role of 'Elizabeth' in The Thursday Murder Club, is one of the most respected and celebrated actors in the world. She is known for her long and amazing career in film, television and theatre. Before stepping into film, she used to do acting with the Royal Shakespeare Company. In her long career, she has won several awards including an Academy Award for the film, The Queen. In her personal life, Helen is married to director, Taylor Hackford.
