With the toxic effects of the digital era, we get hold of new criminal reports happening in the cyber world every day. Now, a TV anchor faced the brutal effects of the same when, after gathering information digitally, a businesswoman in Hyderabad abducted him. She did such an activity in order to persuade him to marry her. However, the television anchor filed a police report for the same, and an investigation is going on for the same.
A 31-year-old businesswoman, identified as Bhogireddy Trishna has been apprehended by police for allegedly stalking and abducting a television music channel anchor, named Pranav Sista with the intention of marrying him. Trishna operates a digital marketing business in Hyderabad. Elaborating on the incident, the Assitant Commissioner of Police from Malkajgiri, K Purushotham Reddy, opened up about Pranav's kidnapping case. He said:
“A kidnapping case was registered in the Malkajgiri subdivision, under the Uppal police station by Pranav Sista, a software engineer and TV Anchor against a woman named Bogireddy Trishna who wanted to marry him. Pranav refused to marry her. The woman has been arrested by Uppal police and the search for others is underway. Using the technical evidence the case is registered and she will be sent to court.”

Allegedly, Bhogireddy Trishna had installed a tracking device on Pranav Sista's car to stalk him and monitor his activities. Later, she also hired a few other people to abduct Pranav and she could successfully do so, and pester him until he agreed to her wishes. Then only he was released from the same. Following this, Pranav reportedly filed a case with the police, and she was booked under 363 (kidnapping), 341 (wrongful restraint), 342 (wrongful confinement), and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Finally, on February 23, 2024, Trishna was arrested in Hyderabad.
The incident started happening when the businesswoman saw the photos of the TV anchor on a matrimony website. Then, they started chatting with the account holder since 2022. However, later, she realised that the account holder was not Pranav, allegedly using the TV anchor's photo as the profile picture on the matrimony site instead of his own photo. She then used her digital skills and searched thoroughly until she found Pranav's phone number. Afterwards, Trishna contacted Pranav through an instant messaging app but was informed by him that some unknown person had used his photo to create a fake account on the matrimony site.

Following this, Pranav also lodged a complaint with the Cyber Crime police station about it. But Trishna continued to send messages to him until he blocked her number, as said by the police officials. Then, he was also approached for marriage by the businesswoman, but he had denied her. The police reports further claimed that on February 11, 2024, the four hired men kidnapped the TV anchor and took him to Trishna's office, where he was beaten up badly. Fearing for his life, Pranav had then agreed to the woman's wishes until he was released, only to lodge a complaint later at the police station. Now, the investigation is going on.
