Tom Skerritt has been married to Julie Tokashiki for more than 25 years

Tom Skerritt’s personal life has been in the headlines over the years for various reasons. While he tied the knot thrice, he has been living a happy life with his third wife, Julie Tokashiki, since 1998. Notably, Julie was working at Fox as a studio executive when Tom met her for the first time. Although the year of their first meeting has not been revealed anywhere, Tom was shooting for Picket Fences during that period.

The Seattle Times stated that Julie was reportedly feeling hesitant to be with Tom when they went on their first date. However, things changed with time, and the pair soon developed romantic feelings for each other. Julie and Tom exchanged vows in 1998, and they have a daughter named Emi. The pair adopted the child in 2007, and Emi was 12 years old at that time. Tom had once praised Julie in an interview by describing her as a strong individual. He further stated:

“I look at her with a great deal of respect and marvel at who she is. She’s just a great piece of art.”

Tom Skerritt’s first two marriages also lasted for a long time

Tom Skerritt was only 21 years old when he tied the knot with an artist named Charlotte R Shanks in 1957. Tom and Charlotte were together for 15 years, and they had three children. The duo’s first child, Andy, was born seven years after their marriage in 1962. They welcomed another child named Erin, in 1964, followed by a third child, Matt, in 1969. Matt has been active as a creative director and filmmaker. Charlotte and Tom’s second child, Andy, is a computer expert. On the other hand, Erin has established herself as a poet.

Although the pair was married for a long time, Charlotte started suffering from mental health problems in the later years of their marriage, leading to their divorce in 1972. Five years after their divorce, Tom got married to a woman named Susan in 1977. Tom’s career had taken a different turn during that period as he became well-known with the film, The Turning Point. Tom and Susan moved to Lopez Island in 1980 and had a child named Colin, who is also an actor. The pair divorced in 1992 for unknown reasons.
