Netflix's new show, The Royals, has dominated the headlines in the past few days. Unlike other shows released this year, Ishaan Khatter starrer stood out for it's refreshing storyline, royal drama, romance, aesthetic sets, and peppy music. It stars a strong ensemble cast including Ishaan Khatter, Bhumi Pednekar, Sakshi Tanwar, Zeenat Aman, and Milind Soman, who have made a way into people's hearts again with this show. Despite having just eight episodes, the cliffhanger at the end of the story has left netizens intrigued. Fans can't stop placing their speculative theories on the internet, and there are debates over what could happen next after a shocking end. As the fans are waiting for the show to get renewed for a second season, let's break down the ending and figure out what might lie ahead.
It all starts with the introduction of 'Aviraaj Singh' (Ishaan Khatter), fondly known as 'Fizzy,' a rebellious yet handsome heir of Morpur. After living a lavish life in New York, he returns to his estate post his father's demise for claiming the family inheritance. After reading the will of the late king, they find that he left the grand palace to 'Fizzy,' small assets to other family members, and some assets to a mysterious person, 'Maurice.'
Since the royal family is facing a financial crunch, they decide to turn their palace into an Air BnB, and amid this, Fizzy collaborates with 'Sohpia', an independent and strong headed CEO to renew the place. The duo had a one-night stand in the past and while working, their views often clashed. But amid the ups and downs of their bond, they fell in love with each other.
The ending of The Royals is full of twists and turns, which keeps the audience on the edge of their seats. It starts with 'Fizzy' finding a letter belonging to his late father, which reveals that he had a secret affair with 'Maurice'. It makes him realize his mistake, and he mends his bond with 'Sohpia', and they plan to work together. But before things can become better, 'Maurice' publishes a book where he reveals his relationship with' King Yuvanath.'
It created a media controversy, and 'Maharaja Dhondi' leaked information suggesting that 'Fizzy' might be an illegitimate son of 'Queen Padmaja,' putting everything into chaos. In the latter scenes we see 'Fizzy' in a stunned state as he leaves the media fuss and tries to process the information. Though 'Sophia' tries to support him by walking him out of the press event, 'Fizzy' lets go of her hand and exits alone, suggesting more problems ahead in their relationship.

Since the story of The Royals was left on a cliffhanger, fans want the show to be renewed for a new season. Although there is no confirmed news about it from the streaming platform Netflix, they got a new hope from the lead actor Ishaan Khatter. The show's cast sat down for an interview with Filmfare and discussed the interests of Ishaan Khatter's character, 'Fizzy', who likes driving, swimming, and horse riding during that moment. Lisa Mishra, who played the role of 'Nik" , jokingly suggested that the only thing left for Ishaan Khatter's character was stepping out from a helicopter. In turn, Ishaan increased the hope of fans as he said:
"I would do that in Season 2."
