The RajaSaab Actor, Prabhas' Decade-Long Linkup With Jagan Mohan Reddy's Younger Sister, YS Sharmila

Uppalapati Venkata Suryanarayana Prabhas Raju, popularly known as Prabhas Rao, is a famous Tollywood actor who has an immense fan following. Prabhas is one of the highest paid actors in the South Indian industry and enjoys an immense fan following. He made his acting debut with the film, Eshwar in 2002 and has worked in many superhit films.

With films like Chatrapathi, Chakram, Billa, Mr Perfect and Mirchi, Prabhas proved his versatility as an actor. He rose to fame and became a well-known face in Bollywood after starring in lead roles in Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. Prabhas is at the peak of his career with multiple prestigious projects in his hand. The actor is leading the headlines for his upcoming film, The RajaSaab, directed by Maruthi. 

One of the most-awaited films of 2025, The RajaSaab, will portray Prabhas in a never seen before avatar. As per the makers, this upcoming horror-comedy is made on India's biggest horror set, which spans over 4000 sq ft. Prabhas’ professional life has always garnered limelight, and so has his personal life. The actor has been linked with many actresses, however, one name that has been constant is YS Sharmila.

Prabhas’ linkup with YS Sharmila

Yeduguri Sandinti Sharmila Reddy, commonly known as YS Sharmila, is an Indian politician who currently serves as the president of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee. She is the younger sister of the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Sharmila’s name has been associated with Prabhas for more than a decade; however, Sharmila dismissed the rumours multiple times.

YS Sharmila debunked linkup with Prabhas

YS Sharmila and her brother, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy are at loggerheads, and she accused her brother of spreading false rumours about her link-ups with Telugu actor, Prabhas. Addressing the accusations at a press conference in Hyderabad, Sharmila shut down the rumours and said:

“I swear on my children, I don’t know Prabhas. I’ve never had the opportunity to meet him. Five years ago, I swore on my kids when I filed a complaint that I never met him. Even today, I tell the same.”

Prabhas called his link-up rumours with YS Sharmila ‘embarrassing'

Rumours regarding YS Sharmila circulated made their way to the internet, where she was speculated to have been dating the Baahubali actor for more than ten years. The rumours first gained momentum in 2007 when the actor was filming for Yogi. Sharmila's father, YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s relative, Ravindranath Reddy, was the producer of the film. This coincidental link led to rumours that Prabhas and Sharmila were in a relationship.

However, in 2014, Prabhas called out the rumours baseless. He addressed the rumours in a Facebook post and penned his embarrassment over the same. In his words:

“There have also been several embarrassing rumours about my alleged relationship with Ms. Y. S. Sharmila. I would like to make it clear that I have never met or spoken to Ms. Y. S. Sharmilla, and the rumours that are circulating are wholly untrue and unfounded." 

Prabhas’ linkup rumours with Anushka Shetty and Kriti Sanon

Prabhas has been linked with actress Anushka Shetty for some years now. However, the two have always denied all these reports and speculations about them being in a relationship. After that, during the making of Adipurush, Prabhas was linked with co-star, Kriti Sanon. It was also rumoured that the two were all set to get married soon. However, the duo vehemently refused their dating buzz.
