The Bride Designed Her Red Wedding Lehenga From Scratch, Styled It With Gold And Emerald Jewellery

To say that Indian weddings are incomplete without the dhols and delicious food, will be an understatement. Nowadays, wedding celebrations are all about good food, loud music, great decor and one-of-a-kind wedding outfits. And, though we have seen a shift in wedding trends these days, some couples still follow the old trends and add a bit of twist to them.

Talking about setting new trends, these days the brides-to-be are all in when it comes to experimentation and revamping. From planning the entire wedding to making mood boards for decor and designing unique wedding outfits, millennial brides are hands-on. And, same is the case with the bride of the week, Shivangi who designed her and her groom's wedding outfits from scratch. Moreover, not only did she had designed the outfits on her own but had also styled them perfectly on her big day.

The bride of the week, Shivangi, had tied the knot with the love of her life, Sunny Bhalla in a grand wedding. The couple had looked absolutely ethereal in their wedding couture designed by the bride herself. She had donned a breathtakingly beautiful red lehenga choli from the label, Lustrepretandcouture, designed with floral motifs and patterns to give her an edgy look.

On her big day, Shivangi had worn a red lehenga with heavy embroidery work, intricate circular floral patterns and heavy embellishments all over it. Shivangi had designed the outfit herself with golden zari, sequins and stone and she had looked no less than a dream. She had paired it with a semi-sleeved blouse embroidered with zari work all over it.

The bride had followed the double dupatta style and had accentuated her look with two net dupattas. While one dupatta was attached to her choli, the other one was pinned on her head. Both her dupattas had featured simple embroidery work at the hemline and had small buti embroidered all over it.

Shivangi had accessorised her look with a heavy choker adorned with stones and emerald and had matched it with a pair of matching earrings, a pair of haath phool, a matha patti with maang teeka and a very simple nath. The bride had flaunted her red chooda, golden kaleere and a small red bindi and had looked no less than a princess on her special day.

The bride's makeup artist, Samaira Sandhu had pulled up the bride's hair in a middle-parted sleek bun and had decorated it with floral carnations. For the makeup, Shivangi had opted for a subtle look and had completed it with high defined brows, brown shimmery shadow with kohled eyes and thick lashes, contoured cheeks, and red lips.

Well, it's not just the bride who had turned heads at the wedding. Shivangi's then groom-to-be, Sunny Bhalla had complemented his wife, and the couple had looked much in love. He had looked dapper in an ivory-coloured bandhgala sherwani with floral patterns and had paired it with white pyjama. He had completed his look with embroidered juttis, a multi-layered neckpiece, a turban, and a doshala.

Every picture of this couple looked out of a fairytale, and every moment of theirs was captured beautifully by Dipak Studios. Moreover, we are amazed by the fact that Shivangi had managed to design her outfits, look after the decor and plan everything for her own wedding. In a conversation with Wed Me Good, Shivangi had shared:

“I planned my entire wedding myself, since I wanted the thing to go my way and keep a check on everything personally. I have always been inspired by Pakistani decor with white flowers, lots of chandeliers. So when the actual day came for me to take the plunge, it just had to be the way I had envisioned. Not just that, all my bridal outfits were also designed by me from scratch. Every outfit screamed my style, and I wouldn’t have had it any other way!”
