'Telusu Kada' Movie Review, Fresh Take On Complicated Relationships, 2nd Half Falters And Drags-On

Telusu Kada starring Siddhu Jonnalagadda, Raashii Khanna, and Srinidhi Shetty, hit the theatres on October 17, 2025. The Telugu-language film has been directed by debutant Neeraja Kona, meanwhile Thaman S. composed the music. This romantic drama film depicts a love triangle and showcases a fresh story on messy, tangled relationships. Here's an honest review of Telusu Kada, including what works and what doesn't for the film.

Plot of Telusu Kada starring Siddhu Jonnalagadda, Raashii Khanna, and Srinidhi Shetty

Siddhu Jonnalagadda plays the role of 'Varun', a complicated man with a lonely past. His first relationship was with a woman named 'Raaga', portrayed by Srinidhi Shetty. However, his heartbreak from this relationship has made 'Varun' more sceptical about love. But he still wants to get married and have a family since he believes that it will help him to feel more complete. In his quest to find a wife, he meets 'Anjali', played by Raashii Khanna, who seems to be the perfect woman for him. Just when 'Varun' thought that he could move forward with his life, his first love, 'Raaga', walks into his life again. This results in a tangled and messy relationship with misunderstandings, ego clashes, and insecurities arising.

Telusu Kada is visually pleasing, and the characters feel authentic

Neeraja Kona, was known as a popular costume designer before she made her directorial debut with Telusu Kada. As a result, her eye for visual aesthetics makes every frame of the movie pleasing to look at. Each scene is beautifully set up, which helps to give more depth to the story. Meanwhile, the characters also feel fresh. Neeraja Kona doesn't try to make Telusu Kada a run-of-the-mill romance drama. Instead, her characters are complicated, have issues, and aren't without any faults. They are layered with conflicts, like real-life people, which makes all three main leads feel very authentic.

Talking about the good aspects of the movie, the performances of the three main leads are commendable. Siddhu, as the protagonist, brings a lot of depth to his character. He goes from being rude and assertive, sometimes even mean, to showcasing a hidden vulnerability and personal fears. 'Varun's character arc, as a result, is interesting to see. Raashhi as 'Anjali' portrays a nuanced character who balances well between showcasing both her practical and passionate sides. Srinidhi, as 'Raaga', is a breath of fresh air since her character is quite unique and different from what most viewers are accustomed to seeing as heroines on screen.

Second half of Telusu Kada drags and isn't as convincing

The second half of Telusu Kada becomes more conflict-heavy and emotional. However, this is also where the writing falters. The narrative slows down the film, even though it is supposed to be more high-stakes at this point. There are also a lot of gaps in the plotline in the second half. As a result, the end feels underwritten and turns underwhelming, even though the rest of the film was emotionally charged. Hence, Telusu Kada is worth a watch if you are in the mood to see a visually pleasing film with nuanced characters and their complicated definition of love. However, it is a miss if you prefer fast-paced movies and a conventional slice-of-life love story.
