Former actress, Tanushree Dutta, who is known for the MeToo movement that happened in 2018, has been making headlines for her video on facing harassment. Recently, on her Instagram handle, she slammed a user, who said that she made the video for publicity.
On July 22, 2025, Tanushree Dutta shared an emotional video on her Instagram handle, in which she shared that she has been facing harassment in her own house since 2018. In the video, the actress was seen crying, and shared that she had called the cops to help her. After she uploaded the video, a lot of users came in support of her, and gave her strength in the comment section. Amid all the support, one user, and his fan shared his thoughts and said:
"I am fan of Tanushree ma'am, but this time, I think she want to be in limelight. I may be wrong, but it seems so. Sorry if my words hurt you ma'am, but this is what I felt after watching your video."
After this, Tanuushree Dutta looked evidently frustrated by him, and replied to his comment by saying that he just made his account to post that comment. Tanushree replied:
"Really?? Checked ur profile. Aaj hi banaya insta account to post this comment."
In the video, teary-eyed Tanushree looked completely devastated as she spoke to her followers, and asked for help. She claimed that she has been facing harassment in her own house since the past 4 to 5 years. She revealed that she had just contacted police, and they have called her to lodge an official complaint. She also shared that the harassment is affecting her health. She said:
"Guys I am being harassed in my own home. Mujhe mere he ghar mein pareshaan kiya ja raha hai. I just called the cops and they have asked me to visit a police station and lodge a proper complaint. I will probably go tomorrow and do that, I am not keeping well."
In 2018, actress, Tanushree Dutta started a discussion in India, when she spoke about an incident that she faced years ago. She revealed that in 2008, while shooting for the film, Horn Ok Pleassss, actor, Nana Patekar, behaved badly with her on the set. The Aashiq Banaya Aapne actress said that she felt uncomfortable by it. When she spoke about this in 2018, many people supported her, and it became a major part of the MeToo movement in India.

She also accused the filmmaker, Vivek Agnihotri for asking her to remove her clothes, and dance, while shooting the film, Chocolate. However, both Nana Patekar, and Vivek Agnihotri denied the accusations and later, Nana Patekar was also given a clean chit. Her brave step encouraged other female celebrities to speak up too.
Tanushree Dutta was born on March 19, 1984, and she hails from a Bengali Hindu family. Tanushree first gained popularity after winning the Femina Miss India Universe title in 2004, after which she even represented India at the Miss Universe. After that, she entered the Bollywood industry and starred in films like Ashiq Banaya Aapne, Chocolate, and Bhagam Bhag. She became popular for her bold roles. However, after a few years, she decided to take a break from films.
