The COVID-19 outbreak has not only affected our living, but it has also become a problem for many families around the world. Especially, if you are an ex-couple with children. The quarantine has become a big problem for the parents, who have separated, as they now have to adjust in a new setup for the sake of their kids. We truly believe that couples can fight, separate and divorce, but parents can never really divorce each other as they have to come together for the love of their babies. And something similar happened with Bollywood actor, Hrithik Roshan when his ex-wife, Sussanne Khan had taken the decision of shifting to his house for their kids. When the Government had passed the 'stay at home' orders in the nation, Sussanne had temporarily shifted to Hrithik's house for co-parenting their kids, Hrehaan Roshan and Hridhaan Roshan. The ex-couple didn't want them to feel disconnected from love. Amidst the complete lockdown, Hrithik and Sussanne are doing their best to keep the young boys entertained within the walls of their home and spend as much time possible as a unit together.
Recently, in an interview with the Vogue magazine, Sussanne opened up on the decision of co-parenting with Hrithik amidst the pandemic. She shared how the ex-couple had taken the joint decision of living in the same house of the sake of their kids. Sussanne said, "When COVID-19 was declared a pandemic and the news was out that a lockdown would be imperative, Hrithik and I decided that staying together in the same home would be the more intelligent and soulful decision for our sons, and for us. We realised early on that the days ahead would require us to regroup our energies towards creating serenity for one another. With that thought in mind, and a heap full of love, we started on our lockdown adventure." Sussanne further shared how on the first day, they sat together and jotted down a list of activities they wanted to do amidst quarantine. She stated, "So here we are, in lockdown for more than 45 days, living through an unusual time that we have never experienced before in our lifetimes. On the first day itself, we sat together and created a list of ‘quarantivities’ (activities to do as a family in quarantine). The idea was to structure our days in such a way that we grow our minds, warm our hearts and keep our bodies fit and strong—where we have no option but to use a little creativity and innovation to enjoy our days without a sense of monotony seeping through."
Sussanne revealed how the family is working as a unit together and said, "What I enjoy the most is the one hour reading time we’ve set aside for ourselves. It was Hrithik’s idea that we should do this, sit together silently in the same room and read our individual books, at least five times a week. It’s wholesome bonding time with the boys that enriches our hearts along with our brains."

The interior designer also shared how the family workout together every day at 6 pm in an innovative session. "Around 6pm each day, we have our innovative workout sessions, all planned skilfully by the best trainer on the planet—Hrithik! Some days we focus on core training, other days on functional training or cardio. We earnestly follow the sets he gives us and the burst of endorphins post these sessions has helped us greatly to not just stay healthy, but happy as well."
For those who don't know, Hrithik had announced Sussanne's decision to temporarily move-in to his home. He had shared a long note on his Instagram handle that could be read as "It is unimaginable for me, as a parent, to think of having to be separated from my children at a time when the country is practising lockdowns. It is heartwarming to see the world come together as one in this time of deep uncertainty and possibility of months of social distancing and potential lockdowns for several weeks perhaps. While the world talks about humanity coming together, I think it represents more than just an idea especially for parents sharing custody of their kids. How to keep their kids close to them without infringing on the right of the other who also has an equal right to be with his/her children."
