Sunjay Kapur's Widow, Priya Kapur Seeks SIL, Mandhira's Removal From Estate Feud, 'Mischievous..'

Karisma Kapoor and her children, Samaira and Kiaan, got involved in an intense legal battle after filing a lawsuit against their late father, Sunjay Kapur's widow, Priya Sunjay Kapur. Sunjay Kapur, who was the chairman of Sona Comstar, had taken the business to the Rs. 30,000 crore mark. On June 12, 2025, Sunjay Kapur passed away shockingly after swallowing a bee, which led to a heart attack.

Samaira and Kiaan have filed a lawsuit, accusing Priya of forgery and demanding an equal share in Sunjay Kapur's estate. Sunjay's sister, Mandhira, who had a strained relationship with her brother before his death, supported Karisma and her kids. Amidst this, Priya has requested the Delhi HC for the removal of Mandhira from the estate battle, while accusing her of mischievously misleading the court and the case. The HC has recorded Mandhira Kapur's appearance on September 10, 2025, even though she's not a party to the legal suit. During the hearing, Priya was asked to make a list of all the movable and immovable assets of Sunjay Kapur.

Following this, Priya Sunjay Kapur and her son, Azarius filed a rectification application before the court, which was allowed. In the suit, it was mentioned that Mandhira Kapur has not filed any application to be impleaded as a party to the suit, and by deliberately entering into this, she is maliciously attempting to gain access to the back door to participate in the proceedings. Priya could be quoted as saying:

"That upon the careful perusal of the Case History of the captioned suit from the website of the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi it is apparent and clear that Ms. Mandhira Kapur has not filed any application to be impleaded as a party to the captioned suit, and therefore the said deliberate and mischievous attempt is to gain a back door entry into the proceedings before this Hon’ble Court and take a benefit out of the present list."

As per the application, Mandhira Kapur is attempting to enter the proceedings forcibly, which is actually an attempt to mislead the court. Claiming that Mandhira Kapur's entry in the matter is surely unknown to the law, and it's an abuse of the process of law, the application claimed:

"It is pertinent to note that the manner in which Ms. Mandhira Kapur has attempted to join the proceedings is unknown to the law, and is an abuse of process of law in an attempt to create an incorrect record on the record of this Hon’ble Court."

Madhira Kapur and Sunjay Kapur were not on good terms before the latter's demise

For the unversed, Mandhira Kapur and Sunjay Kapur were not on cordial terms when he was alive. This happened when Mandhira used the name 'Sona' to claim her share of her father's estate, while Sunjay received the 'Sona Comstar'. Sunjay was not on the same page as Mandhira, using the same name; thus, he ended up suing her. However, after Sunjay passed away, Mandhira took to her social media and, through a post, expressed her grief over not being able to sort out the differences when he was alive. For the unversed, Mandhira also extended her support to Karisma and her kids in their step of filing the suit against Priya Sunjay Kapur.
