Sunjay Kapur's Rs. 30,000 crore estate and the inheritance issue after his untimely death show a sad side of his family. The buzz around a strained relationship surfaced after Karisma Kapoor, on behalf of her kids, Samaira and Kiaan, filed a civil lawsuit in the Delhi High Court. They claimed that their stepmother forged their father's will and took over all the assets.
Recently, senior advocate, Vaibhav Gaggar, on behalf of Rani Kapur, mother of Sunjay Kapur, alleged that the fight is between Karisma and Priya over the presence of the will. He added that Rani Kapur is not affected by this filing. He said:
"This fight is really more between Karisma Kapoor and Priya Sachdev — whether there is a will or there is no will etc. Rani Kapur does get impacted by it but she will file a response and you will know her stand."
The lawyer further added that Rani Kapur has been made a defendant in her capacity as a class 1 heir of Sunjay Kapur. He stated that since the case is not filed in the court, it would not be appropriate to give any comment. He said:
"She [Rani Kapur] has been made defendant number 3 in her capacity as a class 1 heir of Sanjay Kapur...Now that the matters are coming to court, it would not be appropriate for me to give any further comments. But Mrs Kapur has been quite unequivocal in what her stand has been. It remains the same."
Karisma Kapoor's children, Samaira Kapur and Kiaan Kapur, have moved to the Delhi High Court to seek a share in their father's property. They urged to be recognised as Class 1 legal heirs to Kapur's personal assets in the late businessman's Rs. 30,000 crore estate. In the lawsuit, they made shocking revelations against Priya Sachdev. They accused Sunjay Kapur's third wife, Priya Sachdev, of usurping the 'full control' over their father's assets.
They claimed that their step-mother, Priya Sachdev, forged the will after his sudden death in June 2025, in the United Kingdom. The children are being represented by their mother, Karisma Kapoor, in the court. Karisma's children have questioned the will dated March 21, 2025. According to the will, Sunjay's entire personal estate has been left in the name of Priya Kapur.

Karisma's children further added that they have not been provided with a copy or shown the 'will', which further adds to the suspicious circumstances, in which it has emerged after more than seven weeks of their father's death. The suit mentioned Priya Kapur, her minor son, and his mother, Rani Kapur, as well as the executor of the will, Shradha Suri Marwah. The children reported that Priya had conspired with her two associates to suppress the will for over seven weeks before presenting it at a family meeting on July 30, 2025.
