Sunjay Kapur's Mom, Rani Gets Brutal Against Priya Sachdev In Court, 'Within 3 Months Of Marriage..'

The Delhi High Court is currently looking into the plea filed by Bollywood actress, Karisma Kapoor and late businessman, Sunjay Kapur's two children, Samaira and Kiaan Raj. The kids sought the court for a share in their father's estate, which is estimated to be around Rs. 30,000 crore. The court was in session on September 10, 2025, and now, Sunjay's mother, Rani Kapur, has fired some brutal jabs at her daughter-in-law, Priya Sachdev Kapur.

Rani Kapur takes brutal aims at Priya Sachdev

The plaintiff listed before Justice Jyoti Singh challenges Sunjay Kapur's March 21, 2025, will, which purportedly bequeaths his entire personal estate to his third wife, Priya Sachdev Kapur. Now, Karisma and Sunjay's children have alleged that neither their father nor Priya ever mentioned the existence of such a will during his lifetime. Samaira has filed the plea through her mother, Karisma Kapoor, who has also been appointed as her general power of attorney. At the same time, Kiaan, a minor, is represented by Karisma as his legal guardian.

The plaintiff further alleges that Priya's conduct 'without a doubt' demonstrates that the will has been fabricated. For the unversed, Sunjay and Karisma got married in 2003 and divorced in 2016. However, it was Sanjay Kapur's mother, Rani Kapur, who stunned everyone with her objections to the will. She was quoted as saying:

"My son today leaves me with no roof over my head? I am 80 years old. Today I have nothing. I have written at least 15 emails asking about the will, what are the documents? Not a word has been shared. I have been informed that my email account has been compromised. There is something incredibly unholy. Rs. 10,000 crore worth of assets should have been mine."

Rani Kapur further questioned how the entire estate could be transferred to Priya Sachdev within three months of her marriage to Sunjay Kapur. She revealed to the court that her vested interest had been disregarded. Rani claimed that her son's shares at Soma Comstar were also sold without her knowledge. She was quoted as saying:

"Ms Sachdev comes in, and within three months of her getting married, everything goes? My son leaves me with no roof over my head today. I am Rani Kapur. Regarding the will, it is also important to note that Sona Comstar has assets that have been sold. We don't know who sold it. Shares worth Rs. 500 crore sold to a Singapore entity. My lords, none of the documents were shared with me."

Senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani represented the two children of Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur. On the other hand, senior advocates Rajiv Nayar and Shyel Trehan appeared on behalf of Priya Sachdev Kapur. Senior advocate Vaibhav Gaggar represented the interests of Sunjay Kapur's mother, Rani Kapoor.

Senior advocate Akhil Sibal represented Priya Sachdev and Sunjay Kapur's minor son. Justice Jyoti Singh directed Priya Kapur to file her replies to the plaint and posted the matter for further hearing on October 9, 2025. The official court statement could be read as:

"Issue notice. Reply within two weeks, with a rejoinder one week thereafter. Along with replies, Defendant 1 (Priya) will file a list of all movable and immovable assets known to Defendant 1. Assets to be declared as of June 12, 2025. Next date of hearing is October 9, 2025."
