Sunjay Kapur was a famous businessman and a close friend of Prince William. The businessman passed away on June 12, 2025, after he suffered a fatal cardiac arrest as a result of a bee sting in London, United Kingdom, while playing polo. His sudden demise left his family and friends in deep shock. Sunjay's last rites were held in New Delhi on June 19, 2025.

Sunjay Kapur's sudden demise not only left his family shaken but also his business in a state of uncertainty. Now, amid the ongoing inheritance dispute, Priya Sachdev Kapur's lawyer, Rajiv Nayar, has taken aim at Karisma Kapoor for seeking a share of the wealth for her and Sunjay's children.

The inheritance dispute involving Sunjay Kapur has taken a fiery turn as Priya Sachdev Kapur's lawyer, Rajiv Nayar, has taken some heated jabs at the businessman's ex-wife, Karisma Kapoor. The lawyer told the court that Karisma was 'nowhere to be seen for 15 years' after separating from Sunjay. The lawyer present on behalf of Priya urged the court to show sympathy for his client.

The court has now directed that written statements from both parties be filed within two weeks. The statement revealed that the court will reconvene within a week after the submission is made. The summons was issued in the suit along with a notice on the plea for interim relief. The court also instructed Priya Sachdev Kapur to submit a complete list of all her movable and immovable assets. 

What is the dispute over Sunjay Kapur's assets?

The battle over the late businessman, Sunjay Kapur's Rs. 30,000 crore estate began after the Bollywood actress, Karisma Kapoor's children approached the Delhi High Court seeking a share in their father's assets. The kids were represented by their mother, Karisma, as they argued before the court that they were wrongfully excluded from the estate after their father's sudden death in June 2025 by his wife, Priya Sachdev Kapur.

The suit names, Priya Kapur, her minor son, Sunjay Kapur's mother, Rani Kapur, and the purported executor of the will, Shradha Suri Marwah, as defendants. At the heart of the dispute is a will that is allegedly dated March 21, 2025, which bequeaths Sunjay Kapur's entire estate to Priya Sachdev Kapur. The petition further claims that Priya Sachdev Kapur conspired with two associates, Dinesh Agarwal and Nitin Sharma, to suppress the will for more than seven weeks before presenting it at a family meeting on July 30, 2025.

Sunjay Kapur's death was caused by a bee sting

According to close sources, Sunjay Kapur was playing polo at the Guards Polo Club in London, United Kingdom, when he felt it difficult to breathe and was suffocated mid-game. He requested that the game be stopped and then left the ground. Soon, he suffered a heart attack and died. An insider also revealed that Sunjay Kapur reportedly swallowed a bee, and it is possible that the bee sting in his throat may have caused a heart attack. It is worth noting that Sunjay Kapur had a polo team called 'Aureus', in which he served as a patron.
