Stephanie Buttermore Spoke On Her Weight Gain And Body Image After Vein Leg Ablation Surgery

American fitness influencer, Stephanie Buttermore, has reportedly passed away at the age of 36. Her fiancé and fellow fitness YouTuber, Jeff Nippard, confirmed her death through a social media post on March 7, 2026. The specific cause of death has not been publicly disclosed, leaving fans guessing about the possibilities. The official statement described her passing as "sudden" and requested privacy for her family and loved ones. Stephanie's untimely demise brought her cosmetic surgeries, comments on her weight, and body image into the spotlight, offering a glimpse at beauty standards for women.

Why did Stephanie Buttermore get a vein leg ablation surgery?

Stephanie Buttermore underwent a vein leg ablation procedure on both legs to treat blood reflux (blood backflow) in the greater saphenous veins. Taking to her YouTube channel in February 2020, the late influencer shared the update with her subscribers. The surgery was necessary due to several underlying factors. Stephanie's veins were failing to push blood back up toward her heart effectively, leading to pooling and backflow. She attributed the condition to a past physical trauma, including a severe hematoma on her left shin from softball and a fractured right knee from skiing. At that time, she also gained a lot of weight and spoke about it in the same video.

Stephanie Buttermore's comment on her weight and body image

When Stephanie Buttermore got her vein leg ablation procedure done, she gained some weight. To put her fans' worries to rest, she clarified that her weight change didn't cause the issue that led to her operation. The fitness freak noted that the swelling and more prominent spider veins she experienced during her "All In" process actually helped lead to the diagnosis of the underlying venous problem. For the unversed, her "All In" venture was a period of unrestricted eating which led to bloating and weight gain.

In updates following the surgery, Stephanie continued to advocate for her "All In" journey, stating that despite the medical setback, she felt "healthy and happy" and was beginning to "actually like what I see" as her weight stabilised. She later shared that she eventually stopped weighing herself entirely because even "quantitative measurement" was enabling old disordered thoughts, finding it "unbelievably liberating" not to know her weight. Stephanie Buttermore's body-positive comments gave strength and comfort to a lot of women who struggle with their body image in the era of unrealistic beauty standards for women.

Stephanie Buttermore contradicted her statement and got a cosmetic surgery done

Stephanie, the advocate of body positivity, had undergone a breast augmentation surgery reportedly about three years before her demise. BollywoodShaadis cannot verify the exact date when Stephanie went under the knife. As she received flak from netizens due to her plastic surgery, she shared an official statement addressing the hate train. Through a social media post, Stephanie mentioned wanting to speak about the same but never felt ready to do so. She said that she did not expect that she'd be writting about her cosmetic procedure, but had to do it as being criticised for the same really hurt her. Her exact words were:

"I want to talk about some of the criticism I received when I got a breast augmentation last year and from my 'All In' journey before that. I never thought I would be ok or at peace with the negative feedback, (I genuinely thought it would bother me forever), but I am. I don't agree with their opinions or beliefs, but that's ok. I used to be so bitter and genuinely hurt by the hate, but I've come to realise that it's not that much different from videos reviewing a new album."
