During an interview with the Bollywood Hungama, Soha Ali Khan was asked about the kind of conversations she has with her husband, Kunal Kemmu, brother, Saif Ali Khan, and sister-in-law, Kareena Kapoor Khan when they get together for dinner. To which, she gave a witty answer. Soha said:
"Inheritance."
Further in the interview, Soha Ali Khan also recalled her fondest memory of her father, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. Reminiscing one of the incidents when she had graduated from Oxford, Soha shared that she had worn her father's socks for the graduation ceremony. The actress said:
“When I didn’t have the right attire to graduate Oxford, and they are very strict about what you wear… I had to wear black stockings and I was wearing stilettos and I didn’t have the right stockings or socks. He took off his socks and gave them to me. So I was wearing big fluffy socks with my dainty stilettos as I walked down the cathedral in the Sheldonian Theatre… I always say, ‘I may never have walked in my father’s shoes but I definitely walked in his socks’.”

Sharmila Tagore lives at their ancestral home, Pataudi Palace, in Haryana. While Saif Ali Khan had appeared on The Kapil Sharma Show for the promotion of his film, Bhoot Police, he had opened up on the hassles of owning a royal property and had called himself a 'chota sa landlord'. Saif had also joked that his mother is the one who reaps the financial benefits of the property. He had said:
“Meri maa le leti hai sara paisa. Main sirf naam ka Nawab hoon. Main bhi chota sa landlord hoon. Old mentality, we invested in property and put them up on rent. I got calls about issues regarding the ACs, water leakage. Sometimes I thought, 'I should hire someone'. I hired a manager finally. But before that, I used to handle issues myself.''
Earlier, a report by Bollywood Life had stated that since the House of Pataudi falls under the house of controversial Enemy Disputes Act of the Indian Government, so no one can claim to be its heir. The report could be read as :
''Apparently, all of the properties and other relevant assets belonging to the House of Pataudi fall under the controversial Enemy Disputes Act of the India Government and as such, nobody can claim to be an heir of any of such property or assets that come under the purview of said act.''
Furthermore, the reports had also suggested that Saif Ali Khan's great-grandfather, Hamidullah Khan, the Nawab under the British regime, had never made a testament to all his assets. Owing to which there could be some contention within the family, predominantly from the members descending from Saif’s grand-aunt in Pakistan. Therefore, considering all these legalities, it could be assumed that the chances of Saif Ali Khan passing down his property and assets in Haryana and Bhopal to his kids, Sara, Ibrahim, Taimur and Jehangir, were quite meagre.
On the work front, Soha Ali Khan was last seen in the web series, Kaun Banegi Shikharwati, starring Lara Dutta, Naseeruddin Shah, Raghubir Yadav and Kritika Kamra.
