Sidharth Malhotra And Kiara Advani In 'Saiyaara'? Ahaan Panday And Aneet Padda Were Not First Choice

Starring two debutants, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, Saiyaara has gained immense praise and has also collected huge box office earnings. As the frenzy of the film takes over the public, it is unimaginable that any other actor and actress could be 'Krish' and 'Vaani' than the two newcomers. However, reports suggest that the makers had first approached the real-life couple, Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani, to essay these two characters for the newly released Mohit Suri-directed Saiyaara.

In earlier interviews, Mohit Suri, director of Saiyaara, had admitted that he wanted to cast well-known and established actors in the film. However, producer, Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films suggested casting fresh faces for Saiyaara. Mohit Suri stated that the producer had agreed to invest in newcomers. A recent NDTV report has suggested that before looking for new faces, beloved real-life Bollywood couple, Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani, had been approached for the lead roles of Saiyaara. However, this could not pan out for undisclosed reasons.

Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra's pairing was loved in the 2021 movie, Shershaah. As their chemistry sizzled on the screens, dating rumours soon circulated about them. However, neither of them directly commented except for indirect mentions in the Karan Johar-hosted chat show, Koffee with Karan. Kiara and Sidharth, however, gave their fans a lovely surprise when they announced their wedding in 2023. Recently, the couple has been blessed with a baby girl on July 15, 2025. On the work front, Sidharth will be seen in Param Sundari opposite Janhvi Kapoor. And Kiara will share the screen with Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr. in War 2.

And now, the film's trajectory continues to move upward with no signs of slowing down. Produced by Yash Raj Films and directed by Mohit Suri, Saiyaara is a musical. Ahaan Panday portrays the role of a tortured and 'bad boy' musician, 'Krish Kapoor'. Aneet Padda essays the role of 'Vaani', an introverted and shy writer. The film showcases their love story filled with many ups and downs and a huge twist. 

Before marking his debut with Saiyaara, Ahaan Panday was already famous on social media platforms and was well-known due to his connection to Chunky Panday as his nephew. He had also modelled for a few magazines and walked the ramp in fashion shows. Aneet Padda, on the other hand, is an outsider and had first appeared in TV commercials. She was then seen in a minor role in the Kajol-starrer, Salaam Venky. As per a recent Hindustan Times report, she is a 'big screen heroine' for YRF, and there are huge plans to make her the face of the generation.
