Shilpa Shetty Closes Bastian Bandra's Doors, Announces The Same, Saying, 'Final Bow, Will Return...'

Shilpa Shetty, a renowned Bollywood actress, partnered with Aalia Hospitality in 2019 to form Bastian Hospitality Private Limited. For the unversed, Aallia Hospitality was founded by Ranjit Bindra, Kinal Jani and Tina Ranjit Bindra, who in 2010 formed the Bastian restaurant chain. It was in the same year that they launched Bastian Bandra. In 2019, when Shilpa Shetty collaborated with the brand, and continued to expand the business. Well, it was on September 3, 2025, when Shilpa announced that they were closing the Bastian Bandra.

Shilpa Shetty announces the closing of Bastian Bandra

Taking to her social media handle, Shilpa Shetty shared a statement, in which she announced that Bastian Bandra will be closed after Thursday, September 4, 2025. Shilpa talked about the countless memories the restaurant has provided over the years, which are unforgettable. Shilpa also revealed in the statement that they will host a special night in Bastian on Thursday. An excerpt from the note can be read as:

"To honour this legendary space, we are curating a very special evening for our closest patrons – a night filled with nostalgia, energy, and magic, celebrating everything Bastian has stood for one last time. While we say goodbye to BASTIAN BANDRA, our Thursday night ritual Arcane Affair will continue next week at BASTIAN AT THE TOP, carrying forward the legacy in a brand-new chapter with brand new experiences."

For the unversed, the restaurant has been closed due to renovations, and it's not a final goodbye, as disclosed by the owners. Revealing that they will be back very soon with something new and big, the owners, in an interview, praised their patrons for making the place filled with love, laughter and memories. Talking to NDTV, the owners revealed:

"For nine incredible years, our patrons have turned Bastian Bandra into far more than a restaurant. They have made it a home filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. As we take a short pause for renovations, we are deeply grateful for every moment we have shared with you. This is not goodbye – it is a fresh new beginning. We will be announcing something special very soon."

Bastian has helped Shilpa Shetty become one of India's biggest restaurateurs. It was in 2024, during an interview with Zoom, that the actress revealed the same place had paid the highest GST in the hospitality business that year. For the unversed, after Shilpa joined the chain in 2019, they opened a new branch in Worli the following year, 2020. Three years later, they relocated to a rooftop location. Following this, another branch was opened in Bengaluru and Pune. While Bastin Bandra is closing, the traditional Thursday event at that location, Arcane Affair, will continue to take place at Bastian At The Top, which is located in Dadar West.

Reportedly, this place started operating in 2016 and has become a favourite spot for Bollywood celebrities. From Kareena Kapoor, Malaika Arora, to Ananya Panday, this is a go-to place for Bollywood celebrities. The place is known for the seafood-led menu and electric dining experience. While the place has been closed, the owners have revealed that something big is coming soon. Apart from the Bastian brand, the group also includes Bar Called Life, Arth, One Street and Binge, and each of the places is famous.

For the uninitiated, the Bastian Bandra closing report was released shortly after the Rs. 60 crore fraud case came to light. If a report by IANS is to be believed, Deepak Kothari, director of Lotus Capital Financial Services, alleged that Shetty and Kundra defrauded him over Rs. 60 crore. Amid this, Bastian Bandra's closing reports caused an uproar among the audience.
