Sherrone Moore's scandal has left the entire world shocked. However, amid that, there have been new updates on what actually went on behind the scenes while the former head coach was in custody. According to recent reports, not only did Moore confront the Michigan staffer after she filed a report against her, but they had also been in an 'inappropriate relationship' for longer than everyone had imagined. Additionally, the staffer's lawyer has also claimed that during this time, Moore was physically abusive towards her client, making her scared for her life.
On December 16, 2025, (ET), PEOPLE obtained a copy of the authorised transcript from the hearing. The document included testimony given by Detective Jessica Welker of the Pittsfield Township Police Department and claims made by the staffer's lawyer, Heidi Sharp. In these documents, Welker revealed that the head coach and the staffer both acknowledged they had been in an "intimate relationship" that Sherrone Moore said lasted "approximately two years" during an interview with law enforcement. For the unversed, Moore is currently married. He and his wife, Kelli Moore, have three young daughters.

While Detective Jessica Welker said that "Moore was inside of [her client's] home, attacking her", the staffer's lawyer, Heidi Sharp, alleged to the officers on the scene that "Moore had a long history of domestic violence against [her client], and that he was very dangerous."

Detective Jessica Welker also shared the staffer's account of what happened. She revealed that the staffer told police she "had left the University of Michigan after she had filed a report" and returned to her residence. She added that the staffer indicated that her "intention was to leave town after making the report, and so she went back to her apartment to collect her belongings."

However, when the staffer got back, she heard "footsteps outside" and rushed to lock the door. Sherrone Moore had forcefully entered her home and then allegedly grabbed two knives and started to approach the staffer, while saying, "You ruined my life. You ruined my life." The staffer managed to contact her lawyer, at which point Moore allegedly "turned the knives on himself, pointing them at his neck, saying that he was going to kill himself and she was going to watch," Welker testified.
