Sharda Sinha, a legendary folk and classical singer breathed her last on November 5, 2024. Hailing from Bihar, Sharda Sinha was known for her melodious voice, and she was also called Bihar Kokila. She was 72 years old when she passed away. For the unversed, Sharda Sinha had been suffering from Myeloma since 2018. The recipient of Padma Shri, Sharda's contribution to the world of music is unforgettable, and her demise left a hole inside the hearts of her fans. While her fans are trying to cope with this loss, a heart-breaking video of the late singer from the hospital surfaced.
For those who don't know, Sharda Sinha was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi. As per the reports, she was rushed to the hospital on October 27, 2024, and was in critical condition. Well, it was on November 5, 2024, when she left for her heavenly abode. First, the AIIMS officials broke the news, and later, Sharda's son Anshuman Sinha, in a post, confirmed the same.
Well, in a recent video that made rounds on social media, Sharda Sinha was seen lying in the hospital bed. Moreover, she proved the line that 'the show must go on', as she was seen singing the popular Chhath Geet while lying on the hospital bed.

For the unversed, Sharda Sinha passed away a few weeks after her husband, Dr. Brij Bhushan Sinha died due to a brain haemorrhage. Well, if the reports are to be believed, Sharda's health condition started deteriorating after her husband's demise. Sharda has already suffered from Myeloma since 2018, and in the last few weeks before being admitted to the hospital, she reportedly faced issues with eating and drinking. Moreover, on November 5, she bid farewell to the world. Soon after the same, a post of the late singer for her husband went viral.
In the post, Sharda shared how her late husband used to make her feel special on her birthdays and how it never felt like he had long gone, as they always felt like her husband had gone to work and would return soon. Moreover, one line wherein she said, 'mein jaldi ayungi,' left everyone wondering if the singer could sense her death.
It was Dr. Brij Bhushan Sinha who always encouraged Sharda Sinha to pursue her passion for music and singing, and he even convinced his own mother to let his wife sing in public. In the 1970s people had been a bit conservative about their daughters and daughters-in-law working outside, and Sharda's mother-in-law also wanted the singer not to sing outside the home.
Moreover, it was Sharda's husband who convinced her own mother so that the former could sing in public. Well, Sharda was known as the 'Begum Akhtar of Mithila' and Bihar Kokila. The singer is the recipient of several accolades including Padma Shri and lent her voice to music for several languages such as Maithili, Bhojpuri, and Magahi. She was also the voice behind Salman Khan's songs like Kahe Toh Se Sajna and Babul, among others.
