Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed WAVES (World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit) in his recent 'Mann Ki Baat' radio address. The event will be held in February 2025 and will be a global platform for creative talents across India. Narendra Modi also added that WAVES will be an event as big as the World Economic Forum in Davos as he will make sure the biggest talents and creative minds from the media and entertainment industry will gather in Delhi for the summit. The Prime Minister also revealed that WAVES will be held in the nation's capital from February 5 to 9.
Soon after Narendra Modi's 'Mann Ki Baat' radio address, the Indian PM tweeted about the same and received a big thumbs up from many big names in the media and entertainment industry. Bollywood's 'Khiladi Kumar', Akshay Kumar was the first major Bollywood celeb to laud Narendra Modi for his vision. Akshay also added that he hopes WAVES will become a big global forum. His tweet can be read as:
"Now this is PM @narendramodi ji's vision towards promoting the Media & Entertainment sector. Quite a wonderful idea. Waves 2025 summit will hopefully be a fabulous global forum to have the entire entertainment industry come and grow together."
Soon after Akshay Kumar's tweet, Bollywood's 'King Khan', Shah Rukh Khan, also appreciated Narendra Modi's efforts to lift the media and entertainment industry with the introduction of WAVES. The Bollywood superstar shared that he is looking forward to the big event and added that India's entertainment industry is the country's soft power, which will boost the economy. His tweet can be read as:
"It is with great anticipation that I look forward to WAVES - a film and entertainment world summit - to be held in our country itself. An occasion that celebrates our industry and acknowledges the role it plays in the Indian economy as well as its strength as a soft power... and above all, an occasion that champions and fosters creativity!!! @narendramodi ji."
As soon as Shah Rukh Khan's tweet went live, several Congress supporters started lashing out at the Bollywood superstar for praising PM Narendra Modi. Most of the Congress supporters criticised Shah Rukh for not tweeting about former Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, who served greatly to the nation. While Congress supporters were furious in the comment section of Shah Rukh Khan's tweet, many people defended the Bollywood star.
One netizen penned a tweet reflecting on how Congress supporters are targeting Shah Rukh for praising PM Modi. His tweet can be read as "SRK has caused meltdown in the entire Congress ecosystem towards the end of 2024." Another netizen defending Shah Rukh for not posting a tribute to Manmohan Singh stated that the late politician also didn't tweet about SRK's son, Aryan Khan, when the youngster was falsely accused in a drug case.
