It was at the Los Angeles Superior Court where she had filed the petition. They reportedly got married at the house of actress Carrie Fisher, after dating for like six months. Speaking of their wedding ceremony, Troy Nankin, the spokesperson, had told the publication:

"The ceremony was so romantic, beautiful, elegant, a little goofy – exactly like them. Selma and Ahmet have decided to divorce but love each other very much and will continue to be close friends."

In her declaration, Selma had stated of completing an intravenous medical treatment for Multiple Sclerosis when Ronald had come. She claimed that both had a heated argument, and he then jumped on Selma, who was lying on a sofa. He then used both hands and grabbed her by the neck and tried to strangle her.
