Sara Ali Khan, apart from being ‘so Sara’ is widely talked about because of the royal lineage that she hails from and more so, her close camaraderie with her dad, Saif Ali Khan, mom, Amrita Singh and step-mom, Kareena Kapoor Khan. On June 16, 2019 (on the occasion of Father's Day), Sara had posted a series of adorable monochrome pictures with her abba, along with a heartfelt note. The same could be read as "Happy Fathers’ Day Abba. Thank you for always being here for me, for being my partner on nerdy holidays, for teaching me how to read, for showing me my first rain and snow, for teaching me how to eat spaghetti and all the while remaining patient, loving and compassionate! #likefatherlikedaughter #daddysgirl #mymainman #handsomestman #partnerincrime". And today (August 16, 2019), Saif Ali Khan turns 49! Counted amongst one of the finest actors of the Tinseltown, Saif is riding high on the pillion of his professional as well as personal life. With his recently released Sacred Games 2 and his daughter, Sara doing so well in her acting career (already), we bet it is all that a dad asks for. Hence, his daughter, Sara Ali Khan recently took to Instagram and posted a picture of a Pataudi get-together (comprising of Sara herself, abba, Saif, brother, Ibrahim and half-brother, Taimur) in one frame, happily posing for the camera. Sharing the picture, Sara wrote, “Happiest birthday Abba. I love you so much.”
Saif Ali Khan and Sara Ali Khan’s camaraderie is something that we all have seen in many instances, more specifically, Koffee With Karan’s season 6, and we all had loved it! ‘A father who is more like a friend’ is a phrase that is more likely to suit this celeb daddy-daughter duo. And hence, we had recently come across two childhood pictures of Sara Ali Khan, cuddled in her daddy, Saif’s arms and making a puppy face while her handsome father lovingly looked at her. In an interview with the Mid-Day, Sara Ali Khan had spoken about her relationship with her parents, Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh. She had stated, “I have grown up with a mother [Amrita Singh], and father, both of whom have never let me think that it's possible to not get something I want. These may not be materialistic things, because I'm not a materialistic girl unless you're talking about bangles, in which case, I'm obsessive. But, they have given me immense attention and time. Going to New York made me recognise that sometimes, I would have to fight for these things, because I don't have Saif and Amrita, the strongest people I know, behind me. I could not get anything I wanted on a platter."

Further sharing if she ever discusses work with her father, Sara Ali Khan had shared, “He [Saif Ali Khan] looks at me like I'm a traitor for discussing films. He lives with Kareena [Kapoor], is a brother to Soha, and is an actor's son. So, now, if I discuss work, he's like, 'Please don't do this to me.' So, we don't talk about films often. We talk about history, argue about what Hitler's motivations were, or who was wrong in the Cold War. Sometimes, we discuss religion and how different beliefs and social systems came about. We both enjoy culture, travelling, good food, and great conversations."
For the same, Sara Ali Khan had also opened up about the career choices that her abba, Saif Ali Khan is making and had also thanked her stepmom, Kareena Kapoor Khan for this reason. The Pataudi princess had revealed, “For him, taking a step like Sacred Games is so admirable. He doesn’t care about what people have to say. He’s just out there to do his work to the best of his abilities. He and I would agree that he’s doing his finest acting now.” Sara had further added, “He’s always just a phone call away… I am very thankful to Kareena [Kapoor Khan] because she makes my father happy.” (Also Read: Radhika Merchant's Throwback Picture With Family From Her Teenage Days Is Too Cute For Words)
Sara Ali Khan had once, also spoken about the similarities between her and her father, Saif Ali Khan and of course, nations’ favourite child, Taimur Ali Khan! The actress had quipped, “He’s a lot like me—we’re both readers, we both like history, we’re both travellers. He is 25 years older than me, which isn’t a lot. I am right in between the age gap of Taimur [Ali Khan] and my father.” She had also stated, “To be honest, I don’t get to see Taimur very often but every time I do he’s a bundle of happiness. When Taimur is happy, the whole room is happy. He is my blood and the source of my father’s joy.”
Saif Ali Khan too had once spoken about his and Sara Ali Khan’s relationship. The Agent Vinod star was quoted as saying in an interview, “I was quite young when I had Sara, we have a drink together from time to time. We are more like friends, so there's very little I can lecture her on in that sense. It's a bit odd, someone might even cast us in movie."
And we can’t wait for the same, Saif! Here’s wishing you, a very happy 49th birthday!
