Sanjay Dutt is one of the most talented actors in Bollywood. Following his late parents, Sunil Dutt and Nargis Dutt, the actor has carved his name in the film industry, courtesy of his exceptional acting skills. Sanjay has won millions of hearts with his blockbuster performances in films like Munna Bhai M.B.B.S., K.G.F., Khal Nayak, Jawan, Vaastav: The Reality, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, PK, Rocky, Agneepath, Leo and many more. Though Sanjay is currently soaring high on the professional front, there was a time when he went through the darkest phase of his life. For the unversed, it was in 2007, when the actor was sentenced to five-year jail under the TADA act for his possession of arms that were part of the consignment used in the 1993 blast.
In an interview with Lallantop, Sanjay Dutt's lawyer, Pradeep Rai opened up about the actor's jail period and how he was completely changed after his imprisonment days. Pradeep mentioned that the actor went through several ups and downs in his life but he never lost patience. Revealing how Sanjay called him the day, he was going to jail, Pradeep said:
"Sanjay Dutt change ho chuke the. When he used to meet me, he would say, 'Sir, you haven’t seen me before’. He would also say that now things had changed and his daughter was also grown up. There are many ups and downs in a man’s life but there are one or two important things which he missed out on because of drugs and this case. But even then he didn't lose patience. The day he was going to jail, I couldn't got to Mumbai and he called me and told me that he is going in."

Further, in the same conversation, Pradeep stated that Sanjay Dutt had a habit of never repeating his clothes. However, when the actor came out of jail, he was wearing a torn piece of clothing. Pradeep also shared how Sanjay told him that he wore that single piece of clothing inside the jail as he couldn't arrange another one. In his words:
"I knew that Sanjay Dutt used to have the habit of not repeating his clothes. The same Sanjay Dutt, when he came out, he came with a garment, which was worn and torn. He showed it to me and said that he only wore this because he wouldn't get another inside."
Pradeep also recalled another incident and mentioned that Sanjay Dutt was once denied performing inside the jail because of security threats. Elaborating further about it, the lawyer mentioned that Sanjay had prepared for the drama, and after all the rehearsals, he was refused permission. In his words:
"There was a drama happening in jail and Sanjay Dutt was an actor. A man in locked up inside a jail and he wants to do some drama but the jail authorities tell him that they can't allow him because he has security threat. He had done all the homework but when the time came for the play, he was refused permission."
