In the memoir, the former IPS officer further revealed what happened next. She said as the news of his transfer spread out, the jail authority had to postpone the same. Later, the authority sat with Sanju and made him believe that his apprehension about an ‘encounter’ was misplaced. She wrote:

"So, we decided to postpone the transfer and withdrew the team that had been deployed. Dutt was counselled against making his shift to Yerawada an issue and it was impressed upon him that his apprehension about an ‘encounter’ was misplaced. Sometime later we were able to quietly and successfully move him and prevented the sober work of judicial custody from becoming a public farce.”

The former IPS officer, Meeran Chadha Borwankar revealed unheard anecdotes about Sanjay Dutt's jail stay

During her appearance in the podcast of Cyrus Broacha, Meeran Chadha Borwankar was asked if Sanju baba was too nice during his jail stay. To this, Meeran said that there had been speculations that the actor used to get special treatment at the jail, which was utterly untrue. Talking more about Sanjay Dutt, Meeran mentioned that Sanju was generally nice inside the jail, or else his parole and furlough would have been denied. Talking more about the same, Meeran stated:

"He used his sources to find out that I’m from Punjab. He embarrassed me a little. But the main issue was the media alleging that we give him special treatment, which we did not. And he was nice generally because his parole and furlough was dependant on his behaviour in the prison. Had he not behaved, we would not have permitted him furlough or parole. Kaam bhi karta tha, beedi aur cigarette bhi khareed leta tha. On the whole, he had realised that here he had better behave.”

In the same interview, Meeran Chadha Borwankar answered the question about whether Sanjay Dutt had the privilege of having homemade food inside the jail. To this, she said that whenever big politicians, actors, and actresses remain inside of the jail, they first have the privilege of having homemade food, so the same happened with Sanjay. But later, he got a Magistrate’s order about home food. Although the former IPS officer and others asked Sanju to challenge the same, he said that he was okay.
