Sana Yousuf, 17-Year-Old Pakistani Influencer Shot Dead, She Used To Promote Women's Right

India and Pakistan's relationship has soured after Operation Sindoor and the way the neighbouring country behaved with continuous attacks on the western borders of the country. Despite sour ties, India was left shocked when a tragic incident unfolded in Pakistan's Islamabad. A 17-year-old Pakistani social media influencer, Sana Yousaf, was reportedly shot dead at her home. 

Who was 17-year-old, Sana Yousaf?

Sana Yousaf was a 17-year-old Pakistani TikTok creator and social media influencer. She was known for her engaging content on Instagram and voicing her opinion on women's rights. She was known for promoting cultural pride and sharing educational messages with the youth of Pakistan. She hailed from Chitral and was the daughter of a social worker.

Sana Yousaf was the modern girl of modern Pakistan. She would frequently showcase her culture, Chitrali, and would give out motivational content. Her reels often had humourous take, which helped relax the mind and resonated mostly with Gen-Z. She had over 4,92,000 followers on Instagram. She also had a separate account to manage her brand partnerships and content.

Sana Yousaf was killed at her home

Sana Yousaf was just 17 years old when her voice was silenced. Her sudden death left not only Pakistan but India in deep shock. According to SAMAA TV, Sana was shot at close range by a relative who had come to visit her at her home in Sector G-13, Islamabad. 

However, immediately after shooting her, the suspect fled from the place. Police officials have been investigating the matter from all angles. They are even wondering if it was a possible honour killing, which is quite common in different parts of Pakistan. Sana was killed by shooting two bullet shots. She died on the spot, and her body was taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences for a post-mortem examination.

The brutal killing of Sana Yousaf has triggered outrage across social media platforms. People used hashtags to get her justice, and soon, social media was trending with grief and anger over the unneeded violence and death of Sana. One user wrote, "A young woman Sana Yousaf full of dreams, hope, and courage was silenced simply for daring to exist online. Her presence on social media was met with violence, and her life was stolen in cold blood. She deserved to live. To thrive. To speak. We must mourn her. And we must rise."

Another one pointed, "Bhai social media pe agar aapka influence he to bhai kuch bhi ho sakta he..ye ladki 17 yrs old he to kya family beth ke T.V. dekh rhi thi? Kya matlab daring to exist online? Social media ko apni real family samjha he? Uske followers us ladki ke papa ke umar ke he? Liberal mindset."
