When Samay Raina took down his India's Got Latent videos from YouTube

On February 12, 2025, Samay Raina took to his Instagram handle and issued a statement revealing that he had deleted the videos from his channel. It is worth mentioning that Samay’s show, IGL, became one of the most popular shows on YouTube for its unfiltered humour. While some disliked the offensive jokes, there were some loyal fans. Earlier, the show also sparked controversy, but it was the bonus episode, featuring Ranveer Allahbadia, that left the makers with no choice but to end the show. Sharing that the videos have been deleted, Samay wrote:

"Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all India's Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly."

Past controversies linked with IGL

India’s Got Latent (IGL) drew criticism multiple times for crossing lines with its dark humour. The show earlier faced backlash for making offensive jokes about people with disabilities, residents of Arunachal Pradesh, and their mental health issues. In September 2024, a comedian’s controversial remarks about disabilities even resulted in legal action. Another controversy erupted in November 2024, when a contestant made fun of Om Shanti Om actress, Deepika Padukone’s struggle with depression.
