Now, in a recent conversation, Salman has finally revealed where he took inspiration for the 'Tere Naam' hairstyle.
Years after the release of his film, Tere Naam, Salman brought up an interesting fact about his much-talked-about hairstyle in the film. For the unversed, the film, Tere Naam, starring Salam Khan, got released in 2003. The iconic 'Tere Naam' hairstyle was inspired by India’s former president, APJ Abdul Kalam. During a recent conversation with Kapil Sharma on his show, The Great Indian Kapil Show, Salman said that the actual inspiration he got from APJ Abdul Kalam and shared that he always thought that small town heroes have long hair, as he had watched the yesteryear actors doing the same. In his words:
"Ye 'Tere Naam' ka jo look hai, woh actually inspired tha Abdul Kalam saab se. I thought that small-town heroes always had long hair. All the old-school heroes had it too - that’s where the inspiration came from."
Just like Comedy Nights with Kapil and The Kapil Sharma Show, The Great Indian Kapil Show is also fun-filled. The only difference is that the former ones ruled over television, and the latter is ruling over OTT. The first episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show premiered on Netflix on March 30, 2024. Over the years, the sketch comedy talk show has become a fan favourite and thus, makers are bringing it back with a new season. The third season of the show was released on Netflix on June 21, 2025. Just like previous seasons, the third season will also showcase a new set of drama and comedy. In fact, this season is a bit extra special as the OG king, Navjot Singh Sidhu, has returned to the show and joined the previous guest, Archana Puran Singh.
