'Saiyaara' On OTT, Ahaan Panday Reveals Virat Kohli's Tribute In The Film Ahead Of Netflix Release

Ahaan Panday's movie, Saiyaara, has left everyone gushing, and since its release, people have been eagerly waiting to binge-watch it through its Netflix release. Saiyaara is soon going to hit the small screens after a lot of speculation surrounding it. It's the first collaboration between Netflix and YRF on the release of a movie on an OTT platform, despite their having collaborated multiple times for other digital platforms.

Saiyaara's OTT release date is out, but some fans are disappointed

So, undoubtedly, the excitement is heightened. For the uninitiated, the movie will stream on Netflix from September 12, 2025. However, there is still some disappointment since the movie will be released in Hindi, and reportedly, the Telugu version won't be available. However, the excitement about Saiyaara's OTT release isn't going to dim soon. Ahead of that, Ahaan Panday recently shared how the movie paid tribute to Virat Kohli.

Ahaan Panday talks about paying tribute to Virat Kohli through his role in Saiyaara

Saiyaara became one of the biggest commercial successes of the year, and while the entire plot left people glued to the screens, one particular shot was really resonating with both cricket fans, movie fans and others alike. In the scene, 'Vaani' (Aneet) tried to cheer 'Krish' (Ahaan) after he had a fight with his father, which imitated Virat Kohli's signature shot. Ahaan recently talked about the same. He told The Hollywood Reporter that he had to tap off several things before performing. Ahaan continued to reveal how he would have to let go of several things, including his habit of directing himself, thereby completely surrendering himself to the director, Mohit Suri. Ahaan could be quoted as saying:

"For the character, I had to tap into things before. During the audition process, we'd always create the scenes, so when I was on set, I just let go of everything. I had to let go of the habit of directing myself. I completely surrendered and submitted to sir."

In the same interview, Ahaan Panday shared that they never really planned anything, and they would just learn the lines on their way to the set, as they always wanted it to be raw and real, rather than making it mechanical. He revealed that they would prepare 80 per cent of the lines, and some days obviously needed some rehearsal, for that matter. Ahaan credited Mohit Suri for the magic he brought, and that too while believing in him and Aneet that they could pull this off. Ahaan said:

"I didn't plan anything-we'd just learn the lines on the way because we wanted it to be raw and real. We'd learn about 80 per cent of the lines, because we didn't want it to be mechanical. Some days I felt I had to rehearse, but the greatest thing was Mohit sir trusted us so much. There were times we went completely off-key, and he worked his magic; other times he simply believed these two kids could pull it off."
