Television actress, Rupali Ganguly is enjoying a huge fan following after her stint as 'Anupama' in the serial, Anupamaa. In the current sequence of the show, Rupali is tying the knot again in a grand way, and viewers got delighted with the pictures of their wedding. However, in real life, Rupali Ganguly had a simple wedding with her husband, Ashwin K Verma. Recently, Rupali shared hilarious details of her wedding with Ashwin.
Rupali Ganguly had tied the knot with the love of her life, Ashwin K Verma on February 6, 2013, at her parents' home in Versova, Mumbai. The duo had first met each other during an ad shoot many years ago. Soon, they became friends, and in fact, Ashwin was the one, who had encouraged Rupali to join television.

Recently, in an interview with The Times of India, Rupali talked about her hush-hush wedding. She called it a super-fast one and hilarious. Rupali shared that they had decided to get married all of a sudden. They wanted to have a registered wedding at her place, but her father wanted to perform kanyadaan, and at the last moment, they had called a pandit to perform the ritual. She shared:
"Ashwin and I had decided to get married in a few days and I had announced it to my parents. My brother (Bollywood choreographer Vijay (Ganguly) was taking a flight out of Mumbai and I had to ask him to stay back. We fixed a date and I was hoping that Ashwin would show up on time. We were planning to do a registered wedding at my home in Worli but then my father (film director Anil Ganguly) decided to do kanyadaan and we called a pandit."

Rupali further shared that the pandit had reached late in the evening. She also shared another hilarious detail of how her husband, Ashwin had parked in a no-entry lane and was fined by the police. Rupali also revealed that Ashwin had attended his wedding in a shirt and a pair of pants. She said:

"I had asked a designer friend to get a blue blouse with my red sari and we waited for the pandit who did not reach till late evening. Ashwin entered a 'no entry' lane and he was fined by the police. It was hilarious how finally Ashwin landed at my home and the pandit started chanting the mantras from the ground floor till he came to my flat. In total, I had around 99 people at my wedding. Ashwin came dressed in a shirt and jeans and then the kanyadan happened and we exchanged garlands. Our wedding was over in few minutes."
Rupali called her wedding fast, hilarious and a super quick one. She shared that she is happy that she had decided to get married in a simple way without spending a huge amount on a grand wedding. The duo had thrown an after-party at an eatery joint for their friends and family.
