Following this, the death of the couple was confirmed, and it sent shockwaves around.

After reports were rife that 2 dead bodies were found at Rob and Michele's home, it sent a shockwave around. Initially, the identities of the deceased couldn't be verified. Later, with the investigation ongoing, a follow-up report from TMZ confirmed that it was the director and his wife who were killed. The reason for their death was stabbing. NBC Los Angeles confirmed that there were stab wounds on the deceased, after TMZ revealed that the duo was found with 'lacerations consistent with a knife'. Several investigations have been going on by the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division.

While nothing much is confirmed yet, a piece of shocking information stirred a sense of shock even more, as a report by PEOPLE shared that it was none other than Rob and Michele's son, Nick, who killed his parents. To mention, this hasn't been confirmed yet, and an investigation into the same has been ongoing, with the house of the couple being sealed.

Nick has been struggling with drug addiction, and even Rob had once expressed his disappointment about the same. Nick had been addicted to heroin. He had a strained relationship with his father, and he had been to 18 recovery facilities after he refused to re-enter at the age of 19. On his 15th birthday, Nick used drugs, and Rob talked about the same, saying:

"I was never angry. I felt bad for him and I didn’t know what to do to help – and a lot of times parents don’t know what to do.”

Rob Reiner, the son of late comedy legend Carl Reiner and Estelle Reiner, was a famous actor and director. He first got married to Laverne & Shirley star and fellow director Penny Marshall, with whom he shared a daughter, Tracy Reiner. The couple got married in 1971, and after 10 years of marital bliss, they got divorced. Following this, Rob met the photographer, Michele, on the set of the film, When Harry Met Sally. It was Michele who inspired Rob to change the film's script and make it a happily ever after, as shared by him. The duo got married in 1989 and had three children: Jake, Nick, and Romy Reiner.
