Redditors Find Celebrity MasterChef Scripted After Gaurav Khanna Says, 'I Don't Know How To Cook..'

Anupamaa fame, Gaurav Khanna has gained a lot of limelight in recent times. From leaving a lasting impression on the show, Anupamaa, through his acting skills, to winning the trophy on the cooking show, Celebrity MasterChef, Gaurav has made headlines. Currently, Gaurav is a part of Bigg Boss 19 and has already established himself among the other contestants. However, in a recent episode, Gaurav’s decision to choose Ashnoor Kaur over Kunickaa Sadanand as the captain didn’t go well with Kunickaa. Now, after becoming the first captain of the house, Kunickaa gave Gaurav the kitchen duty. However, Gaurav’s statement has raised eyebrows about the cooking show being scripted.

Gaurav Khanna reveals he doesn’t know how to cook Indian cuisine

The recent episodes of Bigg Boss 19 featured the feud between Kunickaa Sadanand and Gaurav Khanna. The fight started when Gaurav wanted Ashnoor Kaur as the captain over Kunickaa. However, the dynamics inside the Bigg Boss house changed drastically after Kunickaa became the first captain. As a punishment, she assigned Gaurav to the kitchen duties. However, the Celebrity MasterChef winner refused to take charge and revealed that he doesn’t know how to cook Indian cuisine. Later, Kunickaa changed his duty and assigned him to clean the washrooms along with Zeishaan Quadri. He was quoted as saying:

"Ma’am, I won’t make it. I anyways don’t know how to make Indian food, then housemates will have to be hungry all day."

Gaurav later discussed the matter with his fellow contestant, Mridul Tiwari. He shared that he didn’t like to cook food and didn’t know how to cook Indian cuisine. He mentioned that people saw his cooking skills on the show Celebrity MasterChef, and now they want to see his personality on Bigg Boss 19. In his words:

"Mera mann nahi hai aur mujhe aata bhi nahi Indian khaana banana. Maine voh show (Celebrity MasterChef), iss show ke liye thodi kiya hai. Ab tumhe kahen ki actor ho, acting karo sara din. Voh logon ne dekhliya mujhe cooking kitna aata hai. Iss show main unko meri personality dekhni hai."

Netizens' reaction to Gaurav Khanna's statement

Ever since Gaurav revealed that he doesn’t know how to cook Indian cuisine, netizens have taken up the matter on the discussion platform, Reddit. A Redditor wrote, "Ok, but who's asking him to only cook Indian cuisine? Cook something else then." Slamming Gaurav for his attitude, a Redditor commented, "All he has is arrogance in the name of personality." Pointing out that Gaurav is sceptical about people judging him for his cooking skills, a user penned:

"Being the current Celebrity MasterChef title holder, he is sceptical of putting himself up for judgment by the HMs. He doesn't want anyone to question his win by his present cooking skills."

A few Redditors also raised eyebrows and questioned whether the cooking show, Celebrity MasterChef, was scripted or not. A Redditor wrote, "Arey yaar MasterChef scripted tha matlab. Gaurav ko Darr hai ki log uska khana kha ke figure out kar lenge ki usse acha khana bnana nahi aata." Another Redditor commented, "Now I am sure Masterchef is scripted."
