Vijay took to his X (Twitter) handle and shared two tweets, praising RCB. He also became nostalgic when, back in 2008, he founded the team. No sooner did he drop the tweets, than they became viral, sparking a meme fest as well, where people urged him to come back to India to celebrate RCB's win. Well, amid this let's have a look at where Vijay Mallya is currently residing.
Vijay Mallya is a former Indian businessman who used to own Kingfisher Airlines and run United Breweries. The businessman used to be a widely-known figure, and his luxurious lifestyle often used to grab the attention. Known as the 'King Of Good Times', Vijay Mallya faced a tough time as back in the 2000s, his Kingfisher Airlines faced a loss, and to keep up with its growth, the former businessman took loans from several banks, amounting to around a total of Rs. 9,000 crore. Even after the same, Kingfisher Airlines had to be shut down owing to the massive losses it faced.
Mallya remained unsuccessful in repaying the loans, and he was accused of fraud and money laundering. It was in 2016 when the investigation began, and Vijay Mallya secretly flew to the UK to avoid arrest in India. Even though he was asked to come back to India, he refused and continued fighting in the UK courts. If the reports are to be believed, till now, Vijay Mallya resides in the UK, and he continues to live a lavish life there even now.
During the peak of his career in 2013, Vijay Mallya had a net worth of USD 750 million, as per a report by Forbes, which also was India's highest net worth back at that time. Well, with the financial collapse he faced, his net worth fluctuated and as per Independent UK, his net worth was around USD 1.2 billion as of 2022. While it can't be determined whether it's confirmed or not, reports claimed that as of 2025, Vijay Mallya has a net worth of USD 600 million. According to a report by Trendlyne.com, he has 0.1 per cent stakes in United Spirits Ltd, and 8.08 per cent stakes in United Breweries Ltd, as of 2025.

Soon after RCB won IPL 2025, Vijay Mallya dropped two tweets. In his first tweet, he congratulated the team, while in the follow-up tweet, he talked about founding the team in 2008, and picking Virat, Chris Gayle and AB de Villers.
