Air India Plane Crash Survivor, Vishwash Kumar Turns Emotional As He Performs Brother's Last Rites

The Air India plane crash has left the entire nation hurt. Among 242 people on board, only Vishwash Kumar Ramesh could survive. Now, the video of his brother's last rites has surfaced.

Air India Plane Crash Survivor, Vishwash Kumar Turns Emotional As He Performs Brother's Last Rites

Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, a passenger of the Ahmedabad plane crash, bagged the name 'Passenger 11A' by the way he was the only one to escape death after the Air India Boeing 787 crashed in the nearby B.J. Medical College Hostel. A total of 279 people had died, and only Vishwash Kumar Ramesh survived as he was seated in 11A, which was next to the emergency exit.

A video of Vishwash coming out of the destroyed place grabbed attention, and people tagged him as 'God's favourite'. However, he was travelling with his brother, Ajay, in the ill-fated AI-171. Ajay was among the ones who were killed in this tragic incident. On June 18, 2025, Ajay's funeral took place, and Ramesh was seen performing rituals. Recently, several videos made rounds on social media, and in one of the glimpses, Ramesh was seen tearing up at his brother's funeral as someone tried to hold him.

In another glimpse, Vishwash Kumar Ramesh was seen carrying his brother's mortal remains on his shoulder and moving forward to the cremation ground. For the unversed, the bodies of the victims were identified and then handed over to the families after proper DNA testing. The entire nation is mourning the tragic loss of 279 lives, including people on board, students and locals.

Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, aged 40, was moving back to London after paying a visit to his family in Diu, along with his brother Ajay (45). However, they were the passengers of the ill-fated AI-171. The Air India Boeing 787 caught into massive fire after it crashed into the nearby medical college hostel. Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, who is an Indian-origin British citizen, was seated in 11A, the seat next to the emergency exit. He mentioned that he had witnessed the flickering lights, a loud noise after the Dreamliner was in the air.

Vishwash Kumar Ramesh also stated that after a while, it felt stuck and collapsed into the B.J. Medical College Hostel. The fuselage near his seat remained intact, and after the Dreamliner crashed, the emergency exit broke open. Ramesh stated that there was also a space from which he could come out of that place. In a video, he was seen coming out of the place walking, and it was no less than a miracle. Later, he was admitted to the hospital, where PM, Narendra Modi met him, and after 6 days of treatment, he moved back to his home. He recently attended his brother's funeral in Diu.

A Thai actor was also saved in a plane crash 26 years ago, while being seated in 11A

The lone survivor, Vishwash Kumar Ramesh's left everyone in shock the way he could make it out of that devastated plane with minor injury. While everyone was a bit relieved about him being safe, a Thai singer-actor, Ruangsak James Loychusak took to his social media handle and talked about another plane crash that happened 26 years ago, wherein he was also a part. That plane crash also claimed 101 lives, with 45 survivors, and Ruangsak James Loychusak was one who could escape the incident by sitting in the same seat as Vishwash, 11A.
