Rajkummar Rao's Wife, Patralekhaa Recalls Asking Pandit To Wrap Up Wedding In 45 Minutes

It has been a decade since Bollywood actor, Rajkummar Rao got married to the love of his life, Patralekhaa in 2011. The couple had known each other before they were seen together in Hansal Mehta's, CityLights. Rajkummar and Patralekhaa's marriage is always remembered by the fans as it was a marriage of equals. He ensured that the actress also applied sindoor on her. However, do you know that Patralekhaa wanted to get married to the actor in 45 minutes and had told the pandit about the same?

Patralekhaa reveals telling the pandit ji at her marriage that she wanted her marriage to Rajkummar in 45 minutes

Patralekhaa is known for her work in the Hindi film industry. It was with her husband, Rajkummar, that she made her Bollywood debut with CityLights back in 2014. She was then seen in Bose: Dead/Alive (2017), which was a miniseries. The actress is also known for her work in IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack (2024) and Phule (2025). The actress, in a recent interview with BollywoodBubble, remembered her sindoordan moment and how she did not want a 3-hour wedding but just a 45-minute ritual. The actress shared:

"So I’ll tell you what happened, we were in the mandap, and we had even told the pandit ji, ‘Please jaldi jaldi karo, 2-3 ghante ki shaadi nahi chahiye, just finish it in 45 minutes.’ Okay? And we were chilling, we were having fun, and then he put the sindoor on me. And then he’s like, ‘You also put it.'”

Rajkummar had already revealed in the past that he fell in love with Patralekhaa when he saw her in an ad for the first time and found her pretty cute. He wanted to meet her, and then the actress, after watching his movie, LSD thought of him to be a bad person, and her image was tarnished. Rajkummar had decided in his mind to marry the actress when he saw her, and when they had their marriage ritual, the actor told Patralekhaa to apply sindoor on him too. The actress talking about the same revealed:

"And I’m like, ‘What?’ He’s like, ‘Haan, lagao.’ It was so momentary, I don’t even think he had decided this before coming to the mandap. These things can’t be planned. I don’t think this was all emotion. I was so overwhelmed, I was like, dude, I felt like the luckiest girl on Earth that day.”

When Patralekhaa revealed of breaking up with Rajkummar Rao

Patralekhaa, earlier in an interview with Zakir Khan, shared how she had a breakup with Rajkummar when they were initially dating. She then went on a road trip to get over the breakup in order to get mental clarity and also peace of mind. The actress shared:

"Mera Raj ke saath break-up hua tha. I was very sad and thought of leaving Mumbai. One of my friends insisted that I go on a trip to Goa and everything would be fine after that. I went to Goa and cleared my mind. However, once I came back to Bombay, I eventually got back with Raj."

The actress got married to her boyfriend, partner in crime, her eveything and her soulmate. The couple were best friends for 11 years before they tied the knot.
