Karisma Kapoor's ex-husband, Sunjay Kapur's demise on June 12, 2025, shocked us like nothing else. Sunjay Kapur was playing polo when he swallowed a bee, and it reportedly caused an allergic reaction in his body, leading him to suffer a heart attack, which was followed by his demise. His father-in-law, Ashok Sachdev had earlier confirmed that the last rites might take place in Delhi, but after six days of his demise, no update about Sunjay's funeral is available yet. It was also reported that it might be delayed due to Sunjay's British citizenship.
Amid this, let us look back to a time when Karisma Kapoor's father, Randhir Kapoor revealed whether she would marry again after her divorce from Sunjay Kapur. Sunjay was a famous name in the business and glamour world. It was his marriage to Karisma Kapoor that grabbed him a whole lot of attention in the entertainment industry. The duo got married in 2003, and in 2014, they parted ways. In 2016, Karisma and Sunjay were granted a divorce. The next year, Randhir Kapoor, Karisma's dad, was asked about his daughter's wish to get married again. Back then, speculations about Karisma's dating life with Sandeep Toshniwal were rife.
Talking to DNA, Karisma's dad, Randhir, stated that his daughter was very happy and well-settled. He further added that he had not discussed the issues of marital life with his daughter, for that matter, but if she would ever wish to get married, then she would surely have his blessings. Randhir went on to mention that he felt his daughter was leading a happy life, and by witnessing this, he was a bit sure that she wouldn't want to get married again. Stating that Karisma is a happy mom, Randhir mentioned:
"I think Lolo (Karisma) is very well settled and happy. I have never discussed the issue of marriage with her but if she does plan to, she will always have my blessings. But I don't think she wants to get married. She is a happy mother and if she wants, she can get married any time but there is no step in that direction right now. She is happy the way she is."
Going further in the interview, Randhir Kapoor shared that Karisma loves her children dearly, and she might not want to get married. He further talked about his bond with his grandchildren. He revealed how Kapoors, being family-minded people, always remain in touch with one another, and continue to be a part of each other's special occasions. Randhir Kapoor could be quoted as saying:
"Karisma is an excellent mother who dotes on her children and probably doesn't feel the need to get married."
It was back in 2016, when during Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur's divorce proceedings, Randhir Kapoor was questioned about his then-estranged son-in-law. Talking about the same with the Hindustan Times, Randhir mentioned that he never wanted his daughter to marry Sunjay. He further tagged him as 'third class', and stated that they didn't need his money. He further alleged that Sunjay didn't care for Karisma, and also cheated on her. Randhir further mentioned that the entire Delhi had an idea about Sunjay's reputation, and thus, he wouldn't speak more. In Randhir's words:

"Sunjay is a third-class man... Everyone knows our credentials. We are Kapoors. We don't need to run after anyone's money. We have been blessed with not only money, but also our talent... (It) can support us for the rest of our lives."
Just like any other actress, Karisma Kapoor's love life also grabbed attention over the years. During the early days of her career, her name was linked to her co-stars like Bobby Deol and Govinda, but neither of those speculations were true. One of the most talked about relationships of Karisma was with Ajay Devgn, although they never talked much about the same. Her strained relationship with Kajol, and also with Ranveen Tandon, fanned the flames. Karisma Kapoor got engaged to Abhishek Bachchan back in 2002 during Amitabh Bachchan's 60th birthday bash, but after a year of the same, their wedding was called off.
In 2003, Karisma got married to Sunjay Kapur, and eventually they became parents to two kids, Samaira and Kiaan. However, problems started cropping up, and in 2014, they parted ways. In 2016, Karisma and Sunjay's divorce was finalised. After that, her dating buzz with a CEO, Sandeep Toshniwal, made rounds briefly, but neither party confirmed the same. Soon, the buzz vanished, and as per reports, the actress is currently living a single mom's life.
