Priyanka Chopra Reveals If Husband, Nick Jonas Likes Being Called 'Jiju' By Indian Fans, 'I Think..'

Priyanka Chopra Jonas and her husband, Nick Jonas, have a global fanbase. They are not just loved in Hollywood, but even in the Bollywood film industry, they are a power couple. From showing off their PDA, to making funny clips, the sweet couple has done it all. Whenever Nick lands in India, especially Mumbai, he is addressed as 'jiju' by the paps, a name that his desi fans gave him ever since he married Priyanka in December 2018. Now, Priyanka revealed if her husband, Nick, loved the nickname, 'jiju'.

Priyanka and Nick had a grand wedding in Udaipur as per Hindu and Christian rituals. Ever since then, when Nick comes to India, everyone goes like 'Jiju aa gaye'. Even when the Indian paps caption their videos on Nick, they designate him as 'jiju'. The actress who is all set for her next offering, Head Of State, has been in a promotional mode. She has been leaving no stone unturned for the same in London. During an interview with Bollywood Hungama, she was told about Indians calling Nick, 'jiju'. Priyanka was also asked if she would like to change the same or whether both of them liked it. She said:

"No, I think Jiju is really cute and he loves it. I love it. I feel so warm."

Nick for years has been known as 'jiju' by his Indian fans and it has not changed even after years of being married to Priyanka. When the actress was further asked in the interview who would be the better spy and blow up a cover at first, Priyanka did not take a second to say that it had to be her. She also added that, having played the role of a spy in the past, her fans would feel that Nick will be a better spy, but that has not been the case. However, she did note that her husband had the best poker face.

When Nick Jonas opened up about being called the 'national jiju'

Nick may be known as his stage name, but his special Indian nickname, called 'jiju' will never fade away. Once during an appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show. Nick had explained the origin of his nickname and also addressed being hailed as the 'national jiju'. It is interesting to note that the host of the show had also played a video from the Jonas Brothers concert in the country where Joe and Kevin Jonas called him 'jiju'. Nick shared:

"As you know I am married to Priyanka. When we got married this hashtag started. I was ‘National Jiju.’ Jiju means elder sister's husband, so effectively I'm the older brother to India."

Nick, earlier in an interview with the BBC, also spoke about how once he was in Mumbai with Priyanka when the Ambanis had opened up their cultural centre, which was a phenomenal event. He did feel overwhelmed when the paps called him 'jiju'. Nick and Priyanka, after marrying in 2018, had attended the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) opening with many other Indian stars. Nick had also addressed paps calling him 'Nickua' and shared he always loved going back to India, as he was used to hearing many nicknames.
