It was in August 2020 when Priyanka Chopra Jonas had announced the completion of her memoir and in February 2021, Unfinished: A Memoir finally released, making our Desi Girl the centre of all the headlines. Priyanka had written about some unheard chapters of her life and shared a few beautiful pictures from her memory lane in her book, which have left her fans in awe. In just 12 hours of being available for pre-order, Priyanka’s book had become the best seller on Amazon in the US. Thanking everyone for their love and taking her to number one in the US, Priyanka had then tweeted, “Thank you all for taking us to number 1 in the US in less than 12 hours! I hope you all love the book.”
From the glimpses of her beautiful moments shared in her book, Unfinished: A Memoir, our favourite was the one of Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas’ griha pravesh ceremony. Priyanka and Nick had moved into their new home in LA during the quarantine as mentioned by the actress herself, "Moving into our new house during quarantine was unusual, but we made the best of it, including a Griha Pravesh (house-warming) ceremony." Wearing a white one-sleeved kurta with an orange dupatta draped around her head, Priyanka held a kalash with her hands while Nick followed with a puja ki thali.
Releasing the cover of her book, Unfinished: A Memoir, Priyanka Chopra Jonas had expressed how it was penning a memoir and over the period of writing, realising that ‘unfinished’ has a deeper meaning for her. Priyanka had captioned the picture as “Ironically, I named this memoir years before I started writing it. Having been a public person now for 20 years, with so much life to live and a long list of things to check off my list personally and professionally, I am very much #Unfinished. BUT the funny thing about writing a memoir is that it forces you to look at things differently, reconciling so many things you thought you had put to bed. In doing so I’ve realized that being ’unfinished’ has deeper meaning for me, and has in fact been one of the most common threads of my life.” (Also Read: Priyanka Chopra Talks About Plastic Surgery Rumours And If She Addressed Them In Her Book Unfinished)
Speaking about mentioning her extended family in the US, whose house she had lived in while she was in America, in her book, Unfinished: A Memoir, Priyanka was quoted as saying by Asian Style magazine, "My extended family has been such a big part of who I am. I’ve been raised with a lot of their support. It was important for me to give credit where its due. I wouldn’t be here if they hadn’t supported me and taken me into their homes. The writing in the book has also never been a tell-all about them, the book is from my perspective. It’s my reactions to the things that happened. So, no one should really have an issue with it. Well, no one has said anything yet, you never know."
