Priya Marathe's LAST Social Media Post Was With Her Husband, Shantanu Moghe A Year Before Death

Priya Marathe's sudden demise left the entire nation in shock. She is famously known for her character, 'Varsha' in the superhit show, Pavitra Rishta, which stars late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande. Priya shared a close bond with Ankita Lokhande, and she even attended her wedding in December 2021. 

Priya Marathe's last social media post surfaces before her death

Priya Marathe's passing on August 31, 2025, left everyone in sudden shock. She was just 38 when she left for the heavenly abode. After her death, her last Instagram post surfaced. The actress shared a post in August 2024, in which she enjoyed her trip to Jaipur with her husband. She was in Amer Fort and enjoyed the scenic view, and was seen posing with Shantanu Moghe. She was dressed up in a yellow-hued top with brown-hued pants. Sharing the photos, Priya wrote:

"Amer Fort.. Jaipur throwback. Awed by the hugeness and its intricacies.."

Priya Marathe's co-star, Usha Nadkarni reacted to the actress' death

Priya Marathe's co-star, Usha Nadkarni, expressed her disbelief at her death at the age of 38. In an interview with SCREEN, Usha revealed that Priya had undergone an operation, despite which she had worked on a serial and didn't disclose any details about it to the world. Usha revealed that she wanted to meet Priya when she got to know her health had deteriorated, but her husband, Shantanu, refused to let them meet her as she would feel embarrassed as she had lost all her hair due to Ganpati. She was quoted as saying:

"I’d heard that she had cancer. I felt bad because is this even the age to get cancer. Then she had an operation, and even worked on a serial after that. Everything went well. Then I recently learned that she’s not doing well. So we thought of visiting her But her husband asked us not to visit. Maybe because when you have cancer, you lose all your hair (to chemotherapy). So she may feel embarrassed. That was just a few days ago. We have Ganpati at home, so can’t even visit her for the last rites right now. But I felt very sad. How can God be so cruel? This is no age to die."

Recalling Priya Marathe, Usha shared that she was a nice girl, kept smiling and talked with everyone. She also added that it was good she didn't had any children because things would have been extremely difficult. She said:

"She was a nice girl. She kept smiling and mingled with everyone. I feel very sad when my colleagues pass away like this, It’s a good thing she didn’t have kids because I can’t imagine what would’ve happened to them now."

Priya Marathe passed away at the age of 38

According to a report by Maharashtra Times, Priya Marathe died at the age of 38. She breathed her last at her residence in Mira Road. Her condition worsened and she wasn't able to recover from cancer. Priya Marathe's death left the entire nation in shock. Priya is survived by her husband, Shantanu Moghe, who is also a Marathi actor. 

As soon as the news of her death surfaced, the internet expressed their heartfelt last goodbye to her. Her fans mourned her demise, and others prayed for her family in these testing times. Her colleagues remembered her beautiful life and her lively personality and how she kept smiling without worrying much about life.
