Priya Marathe of Pavitra Rishta fame passed away after battling cancer for a long time. She was famously known for playing the character of 'Varsha', Ankita Lokhande's character 'Archana's sister' in Pavitra Rishta. According to reports, she succumbed to the illness on August 31, 2025. She was reportedly undergoing treatment for cancer.
According to a report by Maharashtra Times, Priya Marathe died at the age of 38. She breathed her last at her residence in Mira Road. Her condition worsened and she wasn't able to recover from cancer. Priya Marathe's death left the entire nation in shock. Priya is survived by her husband, Shantanu Moghe, who is also a Marathi actor.
As soon as the news of her death surfaced, the internet expressed their heartfelt last goodbye to her. Her fans mourned her demise, and others prayed for her family in these testing times. Her colleagues remembered her beautiful life and her lively personality and how she kept smiling without worrying much about life.
Priya Marathe was born on April 23, 1987, in Mumbai. She is known as a famous face in the Marathi and film industry. She was loved for the role of playing a younger sister to Ankita Lokhande in Pavitra Rishta. She is also known for playing 'Vidya Bali' in the show, Kasamh Se and 'Jyoti Malhotra' in Bade Acche Lagte Hai. She is known for working at Bajaji Telefilms.
Apart from being an actor, she is known as a stand-up comedian and actor. She gained a lot of fans for her shows including Char Disan Sasuche, Tu Tithe Mi, Swarajyarakshak Sambhaji, Ya Sukhano Ya, Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, Tuzech Mi Geet Gaat Aahe, Tu Tithe Me, Bhaage Re Mann, Jayastute, Bharat Ka Veer Putra - Maharana Pratap and more. She has also been part of Comedy Circus.

Priya got married to her long-time beau, Shantanu Moghe, in 2012. The couple had a private ceremony in Pune, which was attended by close family and friends.
