According to multiple reports, Prince William is all set to shift to a new home in Windsor with his wife and three children. A source told The Sun that this move will be for the long term. In fact, the source revealed that the royal couple see their new house as a forever home. According to a report by The Independent, Forest Lodge, the new house of Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, has been a listed property since 1972.

Back in 2001, the building underwent major renovations at a cost of USD 2 million (Rs. 17.51 crore). Following its historic value and its luxury residence status, Forest Lodge in Windsor was prepared to be rented out for about USD 20,000 (Rs. 17.51 lakh). However, the current worth of the historic building that will be Prince William’s forever home in a few months is USD 21.7 million (Rs. 189.96 crore).

Prince William and his wife, Kate, have moved into a large eight-bedroom house within Windsor Great Park. The royal couple are leaving their four-bedroom home, Adelaide Cottage, after three disturbing years that included Queen Elizabeth’s demise, King Charles’ cancer diagnosis, and Kate’s cancer treatment. Forest Lodge is 328 years old and is officially protected as a historic building.

It has luxurious features, including fancy plaster ceilings, marble fireplaces, tall Venetian windows, and a curved hallway ceiling. The Prince and Princess of Wales are investing their own money in the renovation of their new home. According to a report by The Sun, some renovation work has already started. They also claimed that the royal family might shift in Christmas this year, in 2025.

On March 22, 2024, Kate Middleton officially announced that she had been diagnosed with cancer. Sharing an emotional video on her Instagram handle, Kate revealed the health scare. In January 2024, tests confirmed that cancer was present, so the doctors advised the Princess of Wales to begin chemotherapy. On January 14, 2025, Kate paid a sudden visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, where she had received treatment, to meet with patients. During her visit, she announced that she is now in remission. In her words:

"It is a relief to now be in remission, and I remain focused on recovery. As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. I am, however, looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to."
