Late TV actress, Pratyusha Banerjee was one of the finest actresses in the Hindi TV industry. She rose to prominence with her role as 'Anandi', in Balika Vadhu. However, in 2016, the talented actress died by suicide. There have been numerous controversies attached to her shocking death. For the unversed, Pratyusha’s ex-boyfriend, Rahul Raj Singh, is the accused of abetment in Pratyusha’s suicide in 2016. In a recent interview, Rahul slammed popular actress, Kamya Panjabi for missing court appearances. Earlier, Rahul filed a defamation case against Kamya and producer, Neeru Shah, related to a short film on Pratyusha’s life and struggles. He also demanded Rs. 1 crore each from Neeraj and Kamya.
Speaking to Bollywood Bubble, Rahul Raj Singh shared his ordeal about fighting legal battles after his ex-girlfriend, Pratyusha’s death. He expressed how people blamed him for Pratyusha’s suicide and called it a murder. He revealed how a fake narrative turned his life worse. Sharing his hardship, Rahul said:
"When unfortunately this incident took place, the entire world turned against me despite there being no proof against me. It all started when few idiots started blabbering in the media that Pratyusha couldn’t have committed suicide and it was a murder. While these people said it for their two minutes of fame and created a narrative of murder out of nowhere, it changed my life forever for the worse. I have been battling legal cases related to this for the last 8 years, and my pain and hardship is only known to me."
Further in the conversation, Rahul called out Kamya Panjabi and producer, Neeru Shah, for making a short film, Hum Kuch Keh Na Sake, based on Pratyusha’s life and struggles. He slammed the duo for using Pratyusha’s death as a promotion for their short film. He also revealed that the two have been missing court appearances for the last three months. He said:
"Kamya Panjabi and Producer Neeru Shah had absolutely no business to relate their short film with Pratyusha’s death. But the moment they realized her death is an opportunity for their short film’s marketing and promotion, they chose to say absolute nonsense about me in the media. I filed a defamation case of 1 crore each against Kamya and Neeru alongside third-party platforms like Google and YouTube. I must bring this to everyone’s knowledge that for the last 3 months, both Kamya and Neeru have been chickening out in the matter and have literally been missing court appearances whenever a date was given by the honourable judge."
In the same conversation, Rahul Raj Singh talked about how he had to face false claims made by Kamya and Neeru. He shared that despite the court asking the duo to submit evidence, Kamya and Neeru have been missing court appearances for 3 months. Rahul also gave an open challenge to the two to prove him guilty. He shared that the duo also claimed that Rahul had a 7-year-old child, about which Pratyusha might have told them, but it was a false claim, as there is no such child. In his words:
"Till today, despite the court asking them to submit evidence about their claim that I killed Prayusha, they haven’t been able to provide anything. All they have been doing is avoiding court appearances for the last 3 months. I challenge both Kamya and Neeru to submit evidence against me to prove their claim in the next hearing date on the matter which is 18th July, 2025. They made such big claims and still haven’t been able to provide a single evidence in 7 years? Either they provide evidence to back their claims or they face jail term for spoiling my life. All you both have done is fool common people by spreading allegation and misinformation on a death."
