Class 10 Topper, Prachi Nigam SHUTS Trolls Shaming Her For Facial Hair: 'What Matters Are My Marks'

Prachi Nigam, hailing from the small village of Sitapur in Uttar Pradesh, became the topper in the class 10th board examination. While it was a moment of celebration for the young girl, things took an ugly turn when people on social media started bashing her for her facial hair. We live in the modern world, where everyone has an opinion, but people forget that criticising someone for their looks is the worst, especially a teenager, whose ultimate task is to study. However, Prachi Nigam gave courage to many as she shut the trollers with her reply.

For those who don't know, Prachi secured 98.5 percent marks in the class 10 UP board examination. A percentage we all can only dream of. However, people didn't mince their words while trolling her for her looks. In an interview with the IANS, Prachi first time opened up about the same, and showed immense positivity, despite the harsh words of the trollers. Prachi said:

Further in the interview, Prachi stated that her attention has always been on her studies, and no one from her family, friends or teachers ever pointed out her facial hairs as she was always focused on her studies. However, things changed when a picture of her was published after the result and people started bashing her. She stated:

"My family, my teachers, my friends never criticised me for my appearance and I never bothered about it either. It was only when my photograph was published after the results that people started trolling me and then my attention was drawn to the problem."

Giving it back to the trollers, Prachi clearly stated that her aim is to become an engineer. At the end of the day, it is her marks that will matter and hold importance, not the hair on her face. She was quoted as saying:

"My aim is to become an engineer and what will ultimately matter are my marks and not the hair on my face."

While many mocked Prachi Nigam, there were many who came in support of her and asked people to show empathy as she is just a young girl. Let us inform you that facial hair is a hormonal issue which is common in children between the ages of 8-16 years. However, as a society, responsible media, we should not make it an issue and discourage people from trying to make a future for themselves. Beauty will go, but the achievements will stay.

We loved the way how Prachi Nigam, at a young age, shunned all the people trying to make fun of her.
