Bollywood actress and model Shefali Jariwala became a household name in the industry after her iconic music video, Kaanta Laga. She also earned massive fame for her stint in Bigg Boss 13. On the fateful night of June 27, 2025, 42-year-old Shefali reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest and was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. Days after her unfortunate demise, Shefali’s close friend, Pooja Ghai, talked about the late actress's final moments before closing her eyes forever.
In an interview with Vicky Lalwani, Pooja Ghai shared what transpired on the night of Shruti Jariwala's death, as narrated later by her husband, Parag Tyagi. The family was allegedly preparing for a Satyanarayan Puja, and the entire house was decorated accordingly. Recalling the first thing she noticed upon entering Shefali's home after her death, Pooja shared:
“What I have understood from the family, from Parag, is that there was a beautiful Satyanarayan ki puja. In fact, the next day, when we were allowed to enter home to bring Shefali for the last rites, I realised that the whole house was decorated for puja. So there was Satyanarayan ki puja at home, and they did a beautiful puja setup at home.”
Speaking about Shefali, Pooja shared that she and Parag had their dinner as usual, and as per their routine, the latter took their elderly dog for a walk outside the building. However, their house help soon called Parag up, saying that Shefali wasn't feeling well. Pooja was quoted as saying:
“And the moment he went down, apparently, he was called. The helper at home called him and said, ‘Didi is not feeling well.’ So, she told him, ‘Could you just come up, take care of me?’ The dog is really old. And he told the helper, ‘I’ve just come down for a walk, so why don’t you come down, take him for a walk and I’ll come up.’”
Pooja went on to share the heartbreaking final moments of Shefali Jariwala. She requested her husband, Parag, to come up and stay by her side, and he immediately handed their dog to the helper. However, when Parag saw her, Shefali's eyes were closed, and her body had a dead weight, but her pulse was there. Despite being immediately rushed to Bellevue Hospital, Shefali could not be saved. In Pooja’s words:
“He was waiting down the lift, the helper came down, he handed over the dog, and when he went up, Parag said that she still had the pulse. And her eyes were not opening, and she just had dead weight to her body. So he immediately must have realised that something’s definitely wrong. And he took her to the hospital… before she was brought in at Bellevue, she was already no more.”
Pooja also revealed that Shefali had taken a Vitamin C IV drip earlier that day as part of her long-term anti-ageing treatment. This detail has sparked an investigation into whether it played a role in her death. However, Pooja stressed that such drips are common, especially after COVID-19, as people seek to improve immunity and overall health. She added that using IV drips for anti-ageing is routine in the entertainment industry, and she herself regularly undergoes similar treatments.
