She was on the stage, addressing the audience, and Pawan stood next to her, touching her waist on the pretext of removing something.

He was seen touching her waist while she resisted and kept telling her to move her hands. He was trying to remove something and was seen playing with the corner of Anjali's waist. Anjali was seen giving an awkward smile in the video while Pawan totally ignored her consent. The clip went viral instantly and got a lot of negativity. It has now sparked conversations related to the topic of consent and professionalism in the industry.

She has now broken her silence over the incident and shared her decision to leave the Bhojpuri industry after this incident. Anjali took to her Instagram handle a while back to share two videos where she explained what happened at the event and how Pawan touching her left her all stressed. Anjali told in Hindi:

"I have been very disturbed for the past two days. I am continuously getting DMs asking why I didn’t say anything, why I didn’t take any action, why I didn’t slap, regarding the Lucknow incident. And some people are even blaming me; on some memes they are writing, ‘She was laughing, she was enjoying it.’ Do you think I would feel happy or enjoy being touched in public like that?"
